“We should fully equip ourselves both in the offensive and defensive use of chemical, bacteriological and radiological weapons. From now on you should make use of the opportunity and perform this task.”
December 18, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - It was in October 1988 that Ali Akbar Rafsanjani, then speaker of the Iranian parliament, made this remarkable statement in a speech on the future of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps. One year later, in August 1989, Rafsanjani would be president of Iran. He was reflecting on the Iran-Iraq war and, “this speech was probably the Islamic Republic first public statement calling for nuclear weapons,” David Patrikarakos writes in a new and highly interesting study on “Nuclear Iran: The Birth of an Atomic State.”
Iraq invaded Iran in September 1980 and the Iran-Iraq war lasted to August 1988. Iraq did not hesitate to use chemical weapons killing and injuring many Iranians. This caused a deep trauma among the Iranians. It is in this context that Rafsanjani’s plea for chemical, bacteriological and radiological (atomic) weapons was made: Iran must be able to counter any future chemical and nuclear threat by producing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) itself.
Iran did not have the capability to produce nuclear weapons back in the 1980s. But there was a Pakistani nuclear scientist who was willing to help the Iranians. Abdul Qadeer Khan was in fact the father of the Pakistani nuclear bomb and leader of AQ Khan Research Laboratories (KRL). Khan studied in the Netherlands and Belgium and was subsequently employed by the URENCO group in the Dutch city of Almelo. They used so-called centrifuge technology to enrich uranium. Khan was in fact an atomic spy who stole nuclear technology from URENCO and the Physics Dynamics Research Laboratory in Amsterdam in the early 1970s. Back in Pakistan in 1974 he subsequently founded his own research laboratories in Kahuta near Islamabad. Pakistan’s first two nuclear bombs were tested and detonated in May 1988. Khan was thrilled and proud, Pakistan had now joined the nuclear powers, moreover his country had produced the first “Islamic bomb.” Khan was and still is a Muslim fanatic who believes that this kind of highly sensitive nuclear technology must be shared with other Muslim states. He even played a key role in helping North Korea in obtaining a nuclear device – in exchange for North Korean missilie technology.
In 1983 Khan himself pointed out that nuclear enrichment technology is anything but simple. “In order to make reactor grade fuel, Uranium-235 is 3 percent. If it is enriched to 90 percent it can be used as the basic element for an atom bomb. Nevertheless, enriching Uranium-235 to 90 percent and constructing an atom bomb from this is an extremely delicate and intricate matter and the secrets and mysteries of this are tightly guarded. Nobel prize winner Professor Abdul Salam has been quoted as saying ‘there’s no secret about building it, it’s just a matter of putting various parts together.’ (…) Incredible precision is an absolute requirement for the enrichment of uranium by means of centrifuges. The difference in the molecular weights of Uranium-238 and Uranium-235 is miniscule, whereas in the composition of natural uranium there is only one divisible atom of U-235 for every 140 atoms of U-238.’ The clandestine Khan network
Khan really began to work on the Pakistani nuclear bomb in the spring of 1976. It took him and his assistants twelve years to test the first nuclear device. Iran is basically using Pakistani enrichment technology.
The facts about Pakistani-Iranian nuclear cooperation were revealed by Andrew Koch in an article published in Jane’s Defence Weekly in March 2004. In the 1990s “a clandestine network of scientists, manufacturers and middlemen” headed by Abdul Qadeer Khan operated a blackmarket of atomic expertise. Former IAEA Director General Mohammed El Baradei described the so-called Khan network as “the most dangerous phenomenon we have seen in the non-proliferation area for many years.” Koch: “The network provided uranium-enrichment components, blueprints and expertise to Libya, Iran and North Korea.” In exchange for nuclear expertise, North Korea supplied Pakistan with medium range “No Dong” missiles which the Pakistanis proudly renamed “Ghauri” missiles. The North Koreans announced in 2009 that they had developed a nuclear weapon. There is no doubt about it that the Khan network provided initial assistance to the project.
Iran’s extensive enrichment program is aimed at one thing only: developing a nuclear bomb – just like North Korea’s enrichment program was. And the North Korean communist fanatics were ultimately successfull. The religious fanatics in Iran will be equally successful, unless they are stopped. “An Iranian opposition group revealed in August 2002 the presence of a then-secret enrichment plant under construction near the Iranian city of Natanz,” Koch writes. “IAEA inspectors visited the plant and made several startling discoveries: Tehran possessed more sophisticated centrifuge technology than was previously believed and had assembled an initial cascade of 160 machines with thousands more planned.” “Subsequent IAEA probes and inspections would reveal the presence of highly enriched uranium (HEU) on several of the centrifuges, which bore a striking resemblance to the aluminium P-1 machines Pakistan had used until switching to more sophisticated P-2 maraging steel centrifuges starting in the mid-1980s.”
Iran could not explain the presence of HEU and later admitted the centrifuges had been “imported.” In fact, they had been supplied by the Khan network. IAEA inspectors and diplomatic sources in Vienna (where the IAEA is based) believe that “Khan had shipped components and entire used machines for some 500 P-1s directly from Pakistan in 1994-95.” There were also subsequent transfers of designs and components “for the more sophisticated P-2 centrifuges Iran was developing in a parallel program.” Koch quotes “Iranian sources with knowledge of the program” who say: “Iran was not capable of building a centrifuge program without external help.” Disagreeable nuclear surprises
“According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Tehran now has around 70 percent of the material needed for producing a nuclear bomb (although at a lower level of enriched uranium, at 20 percent),” Amos Harel writes in Jane’s Intelligence Review. The current Israeli estimate would be that Iran may have 90 percent of the material needed for a nuclear weapon within 6 to 10 months – by which point it would be would be too late to stop the project.”
The unexpected discovery in September 2009 of Iran’s underground uranium-enrichment facility at Fordow (near the holy city of Qom) was also a real suprise to those who believed in negotiations with such a despicable regime. This “would be an even more difficult site for Israel to destroy, as the facility appears to be deeply buried in rugged mountain terrain,” a number of experts in Jane’s Intelligence Review write. It “has an estimated capacity of 3,000 centrifuges and acccording to an IAEA statement in January 2012, became operational in the production of uranium enriched to the higher level of 20 percent U-235 (weapons-grade uranium is enriched to at least 90 percent).”
The IAEA reported in August 2012 that Iran had doubled the number of centrifuges at Fordow within three months to more than 2,000, George Jahn (Associated Press) writes. “Diplomats since then have told reporters that hundreds more have been installed, bringing the total to nearly 2,800, or full capacity for Fordow.” “The 20 percent material being produced at Fordow is of greater concern to the internatinional community because it can be turned into weapons-grade uranium of 90 percent much more simply and quickly.” “The IAEA report noted a sharp increase in Iran’s supply of a more purified form of enriched uranium that can be more easily converted to weapon’s grade fissile material.” (IPT News).
Tehran “should be in a position to produce enough (material) for two or three” nuclear warheads by the summer (of 2013), if it does decide to double output in the next few weeks, Olli Heinonen, the former IAEA deputy director in charge of the Iran file, says.
Iran has repeatedly refused to halt nuclear enrichment, lamely claiming it is aimed at producing nuclear fuel for civilian use. But the quantities of enriched uranium produced by Iran far exceed the quantities needed for civilian use. Sanctions are having no visible impact, IAEA chief Yukiya Amono said last November. “We are verifying the activities at the nuclear sites in Iran and do not see any effect.” “We have observed that the progression of enrichment has been constant. There has been a steady, gradual increase in the amount.”
For the Iranians negotiations were a means to avoid international sanctions and to gain time. These negotiations did not at all result in substantial delays of the Iranian nuclear program. On the contrary, on those occasions when they seemed to accomodate to international pressure, publicly indicating that they were willing to compromise, they in fact accelerated their nuclear enrichment program. The Iranians were and are invariably lying about their real intentions. David Patrikarakos writes about Iran’s “divide and progress strategy” to split the international community. (He also claims, though, that there is “an internal divide over the nuclear crisis” in Iran.) “The West now faces a strategic program, more or less on autopilot.” This is quite alarming. Equally alarming is Iran’s extensive missile program.
Another interesting quote from David Patrikarakos: “If the spectre of a possible attack on Iran is deeply troubling, the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran is worse.” I tend to agree with this view. Indeed, such an attack should have taken place earlier, now it is almost too late. The United States should not fail to assist Israel militarily once the Israeli government decides to act. There should not be a repetition of what happened in 1944 when the U.S. “War Department” consistently turned down proposals to bomb the gas chambers of Auschwitz and the rail lines leading to this death camp. By 1944, the United States and Britain were well informed about the Nazi program to exterminate the Jews and about the role Auschwitz-Birkenau was playing in what would later be known as “The Holocaust.”
Let us not forget that Hitler was also anxious to build a nuclear bomb. He was talking about a “miracle weapon” that would turn the tide of the war in his favor. The Nazis employed nuclear scientists working in underground facilities. If Hitler would have had more time, if the military offensives against Nazi Germany would somehow have been delayed or postponed, then his scientists could indeed have produced a nuclear weapon as well as an effective missile to strike London and other European cities. (The “V-1” marked just the beginning of German missile technology.) Rainer Karlsch, a German historian who wrote a study on “Hitler’s Bomb” discovered “a 1941 patent draft for a plutonium bomb.” Although it is assumed that Hitler favored conventional arms, there was no guarantee that in his utter desperation he eventually would have resorted to a nuclear device – should he have possessed such a weapon. "Interfaith Sharing" As Da'wa
By CHERYL GATESWORTH
December 24, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org
- Two weeks ago, the Muslim Public Affairs Council [MPAC] held its 12th annual convention. What distinguished this event from its predecessors - the rhetoric is always the same - was the venue, All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, CA. Regarding the event, on the MPAC web site, Salaam Al Marayati, MPAC's Executive Director, stated that MPAC: "will be taking the next step in its mission by crossing the interfaith line."
The road to this joint venture has been a long one, and Saturday's event was the logical culmination of that journey. Some background.
Whenever one attends a Muslim convention or conference at least one spokesperson tells the audience [in one form or another] that the way to political success for Muslims in the United States is to form coalitions. The American political scene is one of coalitions based on common interests, perceived or real. Muslims who self segregate [Lenin's term] will have little or no success in the political arena.
For example, at a recent convention of another Muslim Brotherhood Front, the Muslim American Society [MAS], then director, Mahdi Bray [formerly with MPAC], gave specific examples. He said [and I paraphrase] that one can find coalition partners in the most unlikely places. Fundamentalist Christians - no problem - find a liquor store or an adult bookstore ready to open and form a coalition with them to stop it, citing the devastating effect either one would have on children; libertarians - both parties agree on virtually unlimited immigration; Catholics - talk about abortion.
MPAC was founded by Muslim Brotherhood [MB] activist Dr. Maher Hathout and his late brother, Dr. Hasan Hathout. Both men left - left, perhaps the most gentle interpretation of the reason for their migration - Egypt when things got a little too hot for prominent members of the MB.1.
The two brothers founded the Islamic Center of Southern California [ICSC] in 1988. MPAC was at first a part of the ICSC. Salaam Al Marayati was chosen to lead MPAC when it became a separate entity with Dr. Maher Hathout as its Senior Advisor, a post he still occupies.
MPAC began its work with outreach to local political figures giving them awards for tolerance at their banquets and reminding them that Muslims voted. Interfaith work began with Dr. Maher Hathout, Reverend George Regas, then pastor of All Saints Church in Pasadena, and Los Angeles Rabbi Leonard Beerman.
Dr. Hathout led the interfaith discussions, and they invariably took place in a friendly venue. Dr. Hathout and his interfaith partners would agree as to the victimhood of Muslims in America. Thus did Islam in America become part of the ethnic grievance industry.
The theme stressed was always the commonality of the three faiths, having a joint Abrahamic origin. In such a multicultural atmosphere the organizers were able to successfully portray Islam as just another religion and not an aggressive jihadist political system.
Both Rabbi Beerman and Reverend Regas were always quick to point out that every faith has extremists and that they should not be judged by them. This allowed them to decouple the 9/11 hijackers from Islam itself. They were also quick to point out the religious tolerance of Islam by quoting from the Qur'an, of course using the portion of the book which was "revealed" to Mohammed while he was in Mecca.
This tactic is an essential attribute of the Islamist dog and pony show.
By point of clarification - when Mohammed was in Mecca, he had little power and a small - in the hundreds - following, he kept his preaching benign because of these factors. This allowed him to white-wash Islam as being a benign force until the point came when it had become such a powerful force that masking its intentions no longer mattered.
At these Islamic "interfaith" sessions [actually they are seen by Muslims as opportunities to make Islamic converts and hence, interfaith to them is indistinguishable from da'wa] Another common theme at these events is for the presenters to freely employ the term Islamophobia to silence any critic of Islam, further muddying the waters.
Interfaith work brought unimagined success to MPAC and Islam in America. It provided a fig leaf to cover Islam's intentions. It brought Islam into the main stream and made it as American as apple pie. Why was anyone surprised at MPAC's convention venue?
I was surprised it did not happen sooner.
Muslim Brotherhood fronts in America have a number of goals. First to prevent any analysis of Islam that is critical. Then to carefully construct a third rail beyond which no discussion of Islam can take place. The Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR] was founded in 1994 as Islam's watch dog in America. It carefully monitored criticism of Islam and issued what were termed "action alerts" when such criticism occurred.
Muslims and their sympathizers would be asked to send e-mails to critics, threatening to boycott their newspapers, TV shows, consumer products, persons running for political office. Invariably an apology from the target would be issued. No one wants to offend, no one wanted negative attention, no one thought they had a dog in that fight. Then CAIR would issue a "good news" alert: the target folded: we won. A handful stood their ground, but they were in the distinct minority. And finally no one saw that the third rail had been completed. Now anyone who criticizes Islam regardless of the truth of what they say is marginalized.
Under such conditions, hate speech laws and First Amendment modification were not necessary...moral cowardice worked equally well.
What do you suppose would have been the outcome of World War II had the allies not been permitted to criticize Nazism? Sprechen zie Deutsch?
When the venue for the MPAC convention was announced, a number of conservative blogs criticized the church for permitting this. MPAC called a press conference in which many pastors participated. The conference took place in the church proper and Salaam solemnly read from what he termed the "hate mail" that had been received. Let us assume that if one were going to complain about hate mail and wanted to give an illustration, one would read from the more extreme letters. Saalam read this quote:"You are true stereotypes of the useful idiot, first recognized and exploited by Lenin." The Reverend Susan Russell of All Saints Church read the following "chilling" excerpt: "You endanger my country and my grandson's future." Presenters referred to the convention as a sort of Advent.
One wanted to take each of them by the hand and gently explain to them that this is not Riyadh and what they offered was not hate mail. It was dislike mail. If they wanted an example of hate mail they might ask Robert Spencer, Dr. Daniel Pipes, Debbie Schlussel, Pamela Geller, or for that matter writers for PipeLineNews.org, for examples of hate mail They are regularly threatened with kidnapping, torture and death. It would to be difficult to print these threats as most of the letters would have to be asterisks.
As a rule, law enforcement tends to ignore their complaints and treats them as the cost of doing business. LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, another prime example of a dhimmi [dhimmi being the Arabic word for a conquered people] assured MPAC of heightened security and they "bravely" held their convention.
Whew...that was a close one!
There were no surprises at the convention. Reverend Bacon reminded his audience during a workshop that "Christianity is littered with acts of evil," Rabbi Sarah Bassim, a member of New Ground, a Muslim group begun after 9/11 to facilitate dialogue between Muslims and Jews, called for more interfaith work. Narinjan Singh Kalsa of the Sikh community in Los Angeles said that this conference had sown the seeds of peace. The audience stood and cheered, some with tears in their eyes. Was it the Advent Reverend Russell spoke of?
Actually, it put me in mind of something else.
As the clouds of World War II gathered over Europe and Winston Churchill was informed of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's capitulation to the Nazis, he said: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
These naive clergy will have their war later.
1. Regarding MPAC, the Hathouts and the Muslim Brotherhood, respected counter-terrorism expert Steven Emerson has written:
"Maher Hathout has served as a senior advisor to MPAC and, with his brother Hassan, helped found the Islamic Center of Southern California [ICSC] based upon the teachings that were enshrined in them from their upbringing with the MB. In recounting their childhood and involvement in the MB, Hassan explained that Maher had grown up and followed a similar path: [Read More]
“It was no wonder that my brother Maher [ten years younger] grew up a bird of the same feather, even after I left the country. At a certain time of our political history, martial courts lavished jail sentences for Muslim activism even for giving a donation…to the families of imprisoned Muslims…In one of these mock trials my brother [Maher] and three of his fellows were at court interrogated…” Maher himself later admitted to participating in anti-British resistance activities during an interview, on MPAC’s Muslim Wavelength Radio in September 2000." By WILLIAM MAYER
December 20, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Something else happened on November 6 besides the re-election of Mr. Obama, the exact nature of which is hard to define but its presence is undeniable and its effects are clear - for the first time in my memory at least, citizens are truly fearful of the power of the federal government.
When Obama was swept into office in 2008 upon a media created red carpet, he had already declared his intent to transform the United States. Now most people [the ones Rush has so aptly named "low information voters"] assumed this meant an end to party bickering, ethnic divisiveness and a turning away from DC's tax and spend mentality.
According to their understanding we were going to set the budget on a pathway towards being balanced.
Mr. Obama was also quite clear in stating that he would "end" American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, though many feared at a dangerously rapid pace. Of course those with any knowledge of the situation knew that Mr. Bush had already made the same commitment and done most of the heavy lifting [except for the Status of Force Agreement, which Obama completely bungled] though upon a timetable based upon - hopefully - being able to maintain stability in the two countries.
However it became apparent early in this administration that what the president meant by transformative and the common understanding of that term were quite different.
The result was a huge increase in the size and invasiveness of the federal government. Whole industries were nationalized, bondholders defrauded, campaign contributors rewarded with cushy deals to finance nonexistent industries and the DOJ became completely politicized with selective prosecution of "enemies" becoming the norm to the sublimely ridiculous degree of suing polling companies which showed the president losing ground as the election approached.
So we went into 2012 knowing full well what was in store in a second Obama term, more of the same. Higher taxes, higher levels of federal spending and in general an assault on free market capitalism, to the degree that it still exists.
But even before the election those on the right, or conservative/constitutionalists if you prefer, were uneasy...not only with their candidate Mr. Romney, but the direction society was heading.
Many assumed, myself included, that Romney was going to eke out a narrow victory and we would be done with Mr. Obama's meddling, so the morning of November 7 brought rather shocking news, this was not to be.
To a degree which was unexpected by many, the gloating of Team Obama post the election was objectionably "in your face," as if he had just dunked the ball on you in a pickup basketball game. It seemed that he was smugly giving his opponents the finger.
Which he was.
So we have Team Obama unleashed from any need for moderation and now we will receive the full monty as it were.
Though we knew from the investigation done by the NRA and others regarding the strategy behind Holder's "Fast and Furious," gunrunning scheme - it was to be used as a ploy to promulgate even more restrictive firearms legislation - who could have guessed that even before the beginning of his second term a tragic school shooting would occur which would change everything.
Again the low info voter had no clue and had no desire to know, but those on the right now saw the potential for what has always been one of its biggest nightmares and the left's favorite wet dream - firearm confiscation...disarming the citizenry, totally abrogating the Second Amendment, which as we know now tenuously hangs upon a single vote in the U.S. Supreme Court.
As evidence of this fear, please note that the number of federal firearms background checks has soared to unprecedented levels.
People are looking for an insurance policy against the above, formerly unimaginable scenario of confiscation.
Ditto ammunition, it's backordered nearly everywhere.
But the big fear is more than simply apprehension over possible changes in firearms laws, it feels much more like fear for the nation's soul.
Obama nationalizes two of the big three auto manufacturers, selling one to a foreign company, Fiat.
In the process - a managed bankruptcy - Obama and his DOJ strong armed the court into bilking GM's bondholders and giving the company to the United Auto Workers Union, albeit minus a lot of debt which was discharged in the court proceedings.
We fully expected a very loud outcry, massive lawsuits and public denunciations by America's corporate leaders, especially Wall Street types.
But nothing happened, yes a few lawsuits were filed...but to little effect and that was it.
Perhaps Mr. Obama was surprised by the lack of outrage, we certainly were.
Ok, perhaps that was a small cross section of the business community who just decided to go quietly.
But the process continued and intensified, culminating in the president's health care initiative which was the largest single power grab in the history of the United States, nationalizing over 10% of the economy and completely violating the doctor/patient relationship.
The sound of chirping crickets...
Where were the pharmaceutical companies, the private insurance giants, the medical hardware and device manufacturers, the hospitals?
Where was the medical industry?
Well they were at the bargaining table with Obama, trying to get a piece of the action, as were their dozens of lobbyists.
Now this kind of response to such a threat is generally recognized as a losing strategy. It concedes defeat before the battle because it's equivalent to feeding everyone to the alligators, hoping that they will be satiated before you get chomped.
It never works, the alligator, in this case the feds, view this as a sign of weakness, actually a provocation and an invitation for further abusive treatment.
So America's corporate leaders, rather than savaging the actions of Team Obama, simply accepted the "new reality," and, as was done in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, tried to carve out a small piece of the pie for themselves.
Now we do not expect corporate chieftains to be keepers of the public morality, we do however expect them to make every effort to maximize their profits and returns to investors, but this didn't happen.
Their action was so short sighted that they seemed to be unaware that the entire capitalistic system in which their corporations flourished was threatened by the actions of Barack Obama.
But they simply didn't care. No one wanted to stick their head up, so as Benjamin Franklin would have observed, they were hung separately because they would not hang together and fight the power grab.
We were surprised that there was no outcry over the lack of outcry - if that makes sense. Media types seemed completely uninterested, and this in large part also was the pattern of the alternative media.
Little ink was generated.
Would these be the actions of a Henry Ford or a John D. Rockefeller?
No way in hell are you kidding?
"Sorry Mr. President, fuck you and the horse you rode in on...strong letter to follow."
Yeah, that's what would have happened, these guys were lions and if you got in their way, you were dinner.
But today's breed of corporate executive is totally different. In the first place in most cases it isn't his company, he and his team are just caretakers who are there to pick up a check and collect their bonuses and stock options.
Many of them no longer really care if they are fired...they have golden parachutes and often make more upon their exit than they earned on the job.
Yes there are still entrepreneurs, people with imagination, drive and the will to succeed to create new products and make a ton of money in the process.
And that is what has driven the American dream and standard of living.
But the rules have changed, those interested in developing smokestack industries, mines, heavy equipment manufacturers, steel companies, power plants and the like need not apply...and if you persisted the EPA, the FDA or some other powerful cabinet agency would simply "regulate" you out of business.
"...So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted..." - November 1, 2008, then candidate Barack Obama.
Now all the emphasis is on 'Net "products," such as they are. Social media rules the day and it is these types of enterprises which the venture capitalists fund.
And it is these types of enterprises upon which the Team Obama generation looks favorably, one of the reasons why Obama's 'Net strategy for outreach and fundraising made that fielded by the GOP look amateurish at best - given his closeness to the industry, his campaign had access to Silicon Valley's best and brightest. To his credit Mr. Romney recognized this defect and tried to correct it by putting together a cohesive net campaign, however it was neither battle tested nor was it debugged. As a result it couldn't rival Team Obama's ability to deliver demographically relevant messages specifically to individual voters - a truly impressive accomplishment.
So the lack of outrage on the part of America's corporate leaders over the increasingly invasive actions of the central planners had its effect. The public, having no cues to take from the real experts at business and capital formation simply yawned..."well I guess that's just the way it is now, could you pass the French fries please?"
And so it went, industry by industry, sector by sector fell to the will of His Holiness, and the band played on. - but not all of the electorate was asleep. Nope some people organized themselves into a powerful political force, the Tea Party [TP].
However the beltway political universe was already filled by the two tweedle-dee & tweedle-dum parties, the Dems and the GOPers.
Both viewed the TP with alarm and the party with which one might have thought would have had a natural affinity - these true believers - saw in them a threat to their continued rule. In many respects the Republican party hated the TP types even more than did the Dems because they had invaded their turf, appealed to their voters whereas the Dems simply hated them as being representative of the guns, guts and God culture.
News flash - Speaker of the House, John Boehner purges TP types, removing them from committee chairmanships - a shot across the bow for what was coming. [Note: In total the Congressional Tea Party Caucus is comprised of about 70 individuals.]
Ok so the nation is divided along really weird lines now.
1. The truly brain dead drones, default Democrat voters, assuming they can find the polling places.
2. Zombie-like somnambulists who despite their reverie, still vote...mostly for Democrats. These people seem to thrive on ignorance outside of what is happening in pop culture which they have down pat.
3. Unrepentant neo-Marxists, MoveOn's constituency and Obama's shock troops. Default Democrat voters, unless a Eugene Victor Debs type is on the ticket...
4. Those who are informed, scared but cowed into silence.
5. Conservative/constitutionalist activist types who know the score, are pissed off as hell but feel that they have no place to turn. The GOP has rejected them and the TP is at this point too disorganized to mount a serious pushback.
The result of this is fear, the kind of shiver-up-your spine aftershock one feels upon narrowly avoiding an accident...and it is all encompassing at this point.
Ok now it's time to really get personal.
Not only has the GOP abandoned the conservative movement it is actually engaged in bargaining with the Obamites. As a result, those who cherish this country for what it was intended to be rather than what some God King now decrees have nowhere to turn, no hero around which to congregate, no spokesmen of consequence, no one wishing to be their General Patton.
Then serendipity, that crisis that Team Obama was praying for, nearly two dozen youngsters murdered by a psychopath for no apparent reason.
And he did it with a gun, an ugly, utilitarian black rifle as a matter of fact...an ASSAULT WEAPON!!
Don't kid yourself, the first reaction within this WH was one of overwhelming joy as news of the senseless tragedy bled in. These people do not give a shit about anything but power and its expansion.
The template had already been prepared, filed away to be rolled out when this or a similar incident happened.
Destroying the ability of the people to resist a tyranny once and for all by disarming them en masse - gun confiscation.
Curious isn't it that Senator Diane Feinstein just happened to have legislation for an "Assault Weapon Ban" at the ready?
Well from the MSM it's the usual bleating...ohhh the inhumanity...ohhh the poor little children shot to pieces with a military weapon.
"Say Mr. Carney, what specific action has Mr. Obama taken over the previous four years to curb the availability of assault weapons?"
Carmey "uhhhh.....stammerrr...welll....uhhh...he does....I know for sure....support the assault weapon legislation..uhhhh...well he's had a lot of things on his mind you know..."
The above is paraphrasing exactly the exchange which took place at the Dec 17th WH press gaggle, the media was chiding Obama for not having acted to start the confiscation four years ago.
Self-righteous indignation - "why didn't you listen to us?"
Now seriously, mass murder is a complex subject aside from its utter depravity and senselessness. It resolves itself around a simple question however, what would make a spindly, geeky kid want to kill his mother and a bunch of little children?
Of course there is an obvious answer. This was one sick puppy who should have been in an institution and on a Thorazine drip, yet he roamed freely despite everyone knowing he was a total whack job and most likely...dangerous.
Oh...and he had access to his mother's gun, despite Connecticut having some of the nation's most draconian gun laws. It seems that breaking the law was oddly not a sufficient deterrent to this young man, so we must look elsewhere.
Perhaps it's Quentin Tarantino's fault, yes, the filmmaker who forte [aside from being arguably the nation's best film maker] is ultra violence, choreographed into a Kabuki like dance macabre. Yes it must have been Kill Bill, part 1 and/or 2.
Or possibly it was Pulp Fiction, all smoking guns and please don't get any blood on the furniture thank you.
Samuel L. Jackson might have to shoulder some of the blame also, he is such a gun toting bad-ass, all cooled out in his shades proclaiming holy vengeance using Biblical verses.
Maybe it's the money men behind Tarantino's films, the producers. Better include the script writers and gaffers, they all had a hand in this.
For sure the New York Times and CBS News must have some culpability. I mean this shooter knows how previous and similar acts of violence have elevated human garbage to a level of cult worship unattainable by common folks except by committing such horrendous acts.
Hell, this poor schmuck could have lived his entire life and never gotten a word written about him absent his insane actions, therefore it has to be the media too.
Video games? Certainly they have produced an entire subculture of kids who see blowing people to pieces as a recreational sport so they also have the blood of babes on their hands.
What about Planned Parenthood. Yes you heard me right, the big PP which gets its jollies by killing babies for money. Certainly they have helped create a culture in which life is cheap.
I mean it's only protoplasm...right?
My goodness so many guilty parties, that will be a lot of warrants, hope no one develops carpal tunnel syndrome filling them all out...
Could it be the gun itself?
No it couldn't have. Last time I checked guns were inanimate tools incapable of acting on their own.....damn....
With this many perps no wonder everyone is fearful...
Does this make sense?
I certainly hope not, but that will not stop this bunch, those who from a position of trust use their power to abridge the U.S. Constitution.
The truth is that it's the sheer reach and audacity of these people which I believe has so many people rattled to the point of buying every last firearm - even the ARs - at WallMart, as the current Drudge headline screams.
Demand exceeds supply, hence prices are already through the stratosphere. Where a month ago you could have bought a 15 round magazine for a Glock pistol at just about any sporting goods store for 25-30 bucks they are now selling for well over 100. Though we haven't checked prices on AR magazines it's not unreasonable to assume that the same thing is in play.
Ahhh capitalism...more demand than supply, the iron hand states the price will go up until the point of resistance is met.
Goodness knows what .223 ammunition [5.56 NATO] will be going for a month from now, even if it becomes available.
Now ask yourself, why has this happened. If this incident had - as awful and terrible as it was - just happened and reported like any of the dozens of shootings which occur in any large American city [witness Chicago and Oakland] then do you really think this mad rush would have occurred?
I will bet the farm that it would not have.
So is this an hysterical reaction?
I am afraid, but quite confident, to say adamantly not.
Hysterical connotes unreasonableness driven by blind emotion and this is not the case.
Ok here is the pull quote [journo term for the important stuff].
Mr. Obama and his neo-Marxist Dem allies in the legislature have over the last four years quickly moved in the direction of a totalitarian or police state.
Yes you read that right - a police state.
There seems to be nothing this bunch will refrain from in their quest for the ultimate power to tell you and I how to live, where to work, what automobile to buy, what type and how much soda I will be allowed to drink, what kind of light bulb I am permitted to use and even how many gallons I can use the flush the damn toilet.
Those who are paying attention to this process see what is coming down and are acting in a totally rational manner. They sense the ruthless malevolence of this bunch and act accordingly.
I for one do not blame them in the least, let's place the culpability where it deserves to reside - at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
In times like this if you are not afraid you are a fool...be afraid..be very afraid. [Read More]
Israel's Left Wing Disintegrates, Kadima MKs Flee Knesset The implications of the waning appeal of the left in Israel could be immense
By WILLIAM MAYER
December 18, 2012 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Leftist Israeli legislators have finally been forced to confront reality; the Middle East's political makeup has so radically changed - for the worse - over the last 4 years that the country's major lefty party, Kadima is no longer a relevant political force and hence its members are fleeing the legislature.
From its founding, Israel has always had a well entrenched and at some times dominant leftist mentality. Unfortunately the Israeli brand of leftism is essentially indistinguishable from that which has seen ascendance in the West over the past 100 years.
Bear with me on the following, the dots will be connected.
Two incontrovertible facts:
1. One of the most notable aspects of the left is its anti-Semitism, or if you prefer Jew hatred.
2.The lynchpin of leftist economic theory is its dogmatic attachment to what, in classical Marxist jargon is generally called the labor theory of value.
Inherent in the labor theory of value is the idea that the "workers" are oppressed because they have been denied [mainly by a power imbalance] the full measure of their contribution to the making of any product. This difference between a goods' ultimate worth in the marketplace and what the worker has been paid in wages for his labor to produce it is appropriated by the capitalist.
The capitalist is then a vulture preying on defenseless workers who are held in a condition of virtual slavery by the low wages - "I owe my soul to the company store."
Why is this important and what does it have to do with the disintegration of Kadima?
Let us expand a bit...
Marxism is far more than an economic doctrine, it is also a political philosophy as well as being a predictive theory of history. It therefore holds great sway among its adherents, often displacing the role of religion because of its nearly all-encompassing nature. In this regard it has much in common with Shari'a - a legalistic Muslim blueprint for life covering nearly every aspect of human activity
Marx's demonization of capitalism to a large degree legitimizes the worst aspect of human nature - envy, greed and covetousness. Marxists, and latter day neo-Marxists - such as Mr. Obama - therefore tend to see a land of haves and have nots - a basic separation of the polity into the greedy rich and the long suffering exploited poor.
This provides a basis for employing a strategy of divide and conquer.
The Occupy Wall Street movement was a personification of this mentality. There are the 1 percenters, smugly wealthy/avaricious and the 99 percent, the wage slaves.
The rage produced by such twisted thinking finds and has found through the ages, many outlets, none of them pretty.
One of these has been a brand of anti-Semitism, one based upon the perverse belief that certain rich Jewish bankers essentially control the world's economy.
Witness the Bilderberg and similar irrational conspiracies.
In such a system then the apex villain is the uber rich capitalistic [and therefore necessarily predatory] Jew. Anti-Semitism naturally flows from such a perverse logic and hence there is a pernicious linkage between Marxist/hard leftism and Jew hatred, anti-Semitism.
So if you have been following along you might still be asking, "so what? - how does this explain the precipitous fall of Kadima?
We proffer the following:.
Much of Israel's left, especially its intellectuals, are almost violently anti-Zionist. They view their own country as an apartheid oppressor, a colonial power holding the "Palestinian people" in hell-hole settlements. [There are no Palestinian people, but that topic is beyond the scope of this essay].
These people viscerally hate the country of their fore-fathers, figuratively the land of Abraham and Moses with a birthright bequeathed to them from the Almighty.
It is this inner rage which has driven in previous years huge anti-war protests in Israel where the indictments hurled against the Jewish nation - by Jews - were nearly indistinguishable from those lodged by the Islamists...that Israel had not right to exist.
We believe that at its core Kadima [a "peace" party formed by the late Ariel Sharon] harbors these same anti-Zionist tendencies...and now for the dark truth, also secretly loathed itself for its very Judaism.
Please note this is a very simplified and incomplete explanation, there are other factors leading to the phenomenon of Jewish self hatred. For example, Kenneth Levin a psychiatrist who taught at Harvard, gave two additional causes; one, a version of the Stockholm Syndrome, where captives come to identify with their detainers and second, a dynamic similar to that which affects abused children.
We feel that the so-called Arab Spring did serve one positive purpose, it awakened the leftist Israeli voter - not the leaders of the movement here, but the electorate - to the fact that the existence of Israel was by no means a given, that there were people and ideologies loosed by the Arab Spring which threatened their physical existence.
Seeing the stakes in such stark terms triggered a survival instinct that overrode the loathing of Israel as a Zionist entity.
It simply melted away.
Self preservation will always over-ride abstract theory. One should not be expected to engage in intellectual nitpicking when someone is holding a gun to your head.
Thus the rapid collapse of Kadima - the majority of the Jewish people now understand that to survive they must fight for their country, thus making it a worthy love object.
So as we see it, the death of Kadima is a historic occurrence. It might well have killed off Jewish leftism while at the same time given Israel's people a reason for national pride, patriotism.
Kadima's leaders, though probably not having the same take as do we, understand that such a growing nationalism is their death knell and acted accordingly. [Read More]
