Banned by YouTube - Killing for a Cause: Shari’a Law & Civilization Jihad - Returns

July 25, 2016 - San Francisco, CA - – “At what point over the past 20 years did citing statements and literature by Islamic terrorists become banned ‘hate speech?’ A documentary that I produced in 1994 for PBS concerning civilizational jihad won numerous awards, yet YouTube in recent days removed a video posted by CounterJihad that covered the very same topic in much more limited scope….” [source, Steven Emerson, An Award-Winning Documentary About Islamic Terrorists Becomes Hate Speech , Investigative Project on Terrorism]

And now, as Paul Harvey used to say, for the rest of the story:

In 2006 Google bought YouTube for $1.65B. At the time the price seemed out of line with the site’s perceived revenue potential, and since then YouTube, linked into GoogleWorld [now Alphabet the holding company for most of Goog’s properties [Firebase, Calico, GV, Google Capital, X, Google Fiber, Jigsaw, Sidewalk Labs, and Verily], has managed to increase revenues to approximately $4B, which means its breaking even.

But the truth is that Google was never interested in YouTube becoming an instant cash cow; they are far more devious than that. Long-term the company - whose motto is grandly ironic, “Don’t be evil” – never looked at the property in such tight focus.

You see folks, Google IS the very definition of a darkly evil force and its ambitious long term goal – which is well on track towards success – is to control, build or acquire enough of the media content creation and delivery infrastructure [think of it as the critical mass] of the Internet to eventually be able to have a controlling impact on global culture.

This is evidence that Alphabet’s Executive Chairman [one of Obama’s best buddies] Eric Schmidt has read and internalized McLuhan’s dictum, “The Medium IS The Message.”

So really YouTube’s stand-alone profitability is at best a tertiary consideration by the parent company because its traffic has already surpassed that of any cable network [in the key 18-49 advertising demographic] and as Google/Alphabet continues to integrate the company into the rest of its holdings, it will only get stronger.

Which finally brings us to our story, Google’s politicizing of the Internet as evidenced by YouTube having pulled and then finally restored – under duress - access to Emerson’s video.

You see from the company’s perspective, since this theater quality HD media product told the unadorned truth about the Islamic ideology of jihad it had to be censored upon the untruthful allegation that it was “hate speech.”

“YouTube in its "hate speech" policy explains that it refers "to content that promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on certain attributes, such as: race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation/gender identity."

Having watched these shenanigans for way too many years, we can’t help but conclude that the GooglePlex’s leftist driven censorship will increase in direct proportion to its tightening stranglehold on the ‘Net.
