Iran Sends Warships to Yemen, Khamenei Threatens Saudis

April 9, 2015 – San Francisco, CA – PipeLineNews.org – While the Obama administration continues to play pretend diplomacy with the Iranian terror state, his negotiating partner, has moved two warships into the Red Sea, just off the coast of Yemen. It’s difficult to view this act as anything other than a signal that Iran intends to completely dominate the failed state, now over-run with Iranian backed Houthi fighters. Yemen was only a few months ago being touted as an example of Team O’s successful foreign policy.

The ignominy of the United Sates being run out of the country by the rag-tag Houthi militia apparently hasn’t been lost on our former ally, Saudi Arabia, which for weeks now has been conducting bombing raids against rebel strongholds there.

Over the last month, Iran has delivered nearly 200 tons of military hardware to its Houthi proxy army and the American response has been, to put it charitably, tepid.

On the diplomatic front, while the ink was still drying on the American-Iranian draft agreement regarding the country’s nuclear weapons program, its chief negotiator, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif blasted the administration as a pack of liars, while making it clear that Iran will never allow inspections of the type necessary

Additionally the Fars News Agency today published a less than veiled threat made by Ayatollah Khamenei to the Saudis, warning them that their actions in Yemen will have consequences.

"The Saudis will definitely be struck back in this issue and their nose will be rubbed against the ground (they will be defeated)," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large number of Iranians in Tehran on Thursday. "This action (of the Saudis) is not acceptable in the region and I warn that they will certainly lose interests," he added. The long term strategic damage Team Obama has done to our Middle East policies is breathtaking; allowing Iran to control Yemen which is on Saudi Arabia’s southern border is beyond inexplicable.

Picking and choosing a time and place to confront adversaries is one thing, a complete abdication of responsibility was unthinkable before this administration came to office.
