Terrorist Attack In Oslo, Norway - Many Feared Dead

July 22, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - A major two-pronged coordinated terrorist attack was carried out Friday in Norway. It consisted of a huge car bomb detonated in front of a downtown Oslo government building and later, a mass shooting, primarily of children, at an island retreat called Utoya.

As reports stream in it appears that 20-30 are believed dead [16 confirmed, including 7 at the site of the bombing] but that is only a rough estimate which could go much higher as Norwegian security officials continue to investigate.

A previously unknown group, Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami [Helpers Of The Global Jihad] has claimed responsibility. The group's motivation was supposedly, "the presence of Norwegian forces in Afghanistan and to unspecified insults to the Prophet Muhammad." [source, ELISA MALA and J.
