Report Documenting Pro-Islamist Content In American Textbooks Sent To 500 School Superintendents

December 21, 2011 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a move sure to rattle the oppressive governmental superstructure which has a stranglehold on K-12 education, the Christian Action Network has sent an in-depth study of the pro-Islamist content present in many of today's major schoolbooks to 500 school administrators nationwide.

The study itself is damning, revealing an almost universal historical revisionism present in this key educational material, the purpose of which is clearly to demean Judaism and Christianity while whitewashing Islam. Though the study keyed on Florida textbooks, the problem [as determined by other studies] is nearly universal across all American school districts.

Examples of this bias include:

Study - "As early as 2002 another high-profile textbook, World History:Patterns of Interaction, a high school world history textbookpublished by Houghton Mifflin under the McDougal Littell imprint,did not mention jihad. Houghton Mifflin's multigrade series thendropped jihad from textbooks; by 2005 Houghton Mifflin hadapparently removed jihad from its entire series of social studiestextbooks."

The difficulty here is that jihad is incumbent upon observant Muslims as stated in the Qur'an, so much so that the duty to perform jihad has been called the "sixth pillar of Islam" [the five traditional pillars being; declaration of faith - the shahada; prayer, salat; almsgiving, zakat; fasting; journey to Mecca, the hajj].

"And Fight those who have not faith in God, nor in the Hereafter, and (who) forbid not what God and His Prophet have forbidden and (who ) are not committed to the religion of truth, of those who have been brought the Book, until they pay tribute by hand, and they are the low." [9:29]

Study - "The religion [Islam] has close ties to the prophets and teachers ofJudaism and Christianity," and "Muslims believe that Allah is the sameGod as the God of the Jews and Christians."

This notion, that Islam is deeply rooted in Jewish and Christian theology is garbage, unless one accepts the fact that the only linkage occurred in the mind of Mohammed who liberally "borrowed" from Jewish and Christian sacred texts. It strains credulity to believe that the mere mention in the book of Genesis of Ishmael and Hagar [his mother by Abraham] and their subsequent banishment constitutes Biblical proof that Islam is an "Abrahamic" religion and thus naturally flowed from these two major faiths.

Study - "Most of the people who lived on manors belonged to the Roman CatholicChurch. They practiced a religion called Christianity. The RomanCatholic Church grew strong during the Middle Ages. ?Church leadersbecame rich and powerful. ?because of its power, rulers [kings andqueens] often decided to obey the church."

A clear denigration of Christianity.

Study - "Many important ideas taught in Europe in the Middle Ages came fromscholars who followed a religion called Islam. Islam started in theMiddle East and spread to parts of Europe, including Spain. People inthe Islamic world had been exploring scientific ideas. Students inEuropean universities began to study those ideas, too. They learned newthings about medicine and the stars."

The truth is that the above is propaganda. Islam's contributions to the world's knowledge base are remarkably few. Islam didn't simply "spread" into Spain, the country was conquered and subjugated for nearly a thousand years by Muslim armies coming from North Africa. Just for the record the concept of "zero," most likely originated in India, not the Islamic world.

Study - "During the era of Roman control, a Jewish man named Jesus? taught thatfaith and love were more important than Judaism's many laws."

A clear attack on the essence of Judaism while denigrating Jesus as merely a Jewish man.

Study - "Muhammad's teachings, which are the revealed word of God?are found inthe holy book called the Qur'an?According to the New Testament, Jesusof Nazareth was born around 6 to 4 B.C?According to Jesus' followers,he rose from the dead?"

The bias here is obvious, Islam is the "revealed" word of God, Christianity on the other hand is nothing more than a scribbled set of books of indeterminate import.

Study - "In the late 20th century, another type of terrorism began to emerge.Terrorists who carried out this type of terrorism wanted to achievepolitical ends or destroy what they considered to be the forces ofevil. They attacked targets not just in their own country, but anywherein the world. These terrorists were willing to use any type of weaponto kill their enemy. They were even willing to die to ensure thesuccess of their attacks."

The abstemiousness with which the authors approach this topic and their refusal to even marginally link this "new terrorism" with anything Islamic is comical.

And so it goes. But this is not an accidental happening, as the study points out the process whereby these texts are compiled have become political battlegrounds where the most aggressive are usually victorious. At this juncture those asserting the most aggression are clearly those of the Islamic faith.

Study - "Who are these agenda-based special interests that are working toinculcate their views into elementary and high school ("el-hi") texts?They span the spectrum from ethnicities, to religions, to causes ? evenpolitical parties. Typically, they are Latinos, African Americans,Jews, Christians, atheists, environmentalists, animal rights advocates,liberal and conservative voting blocks, and numerous others. None,however, are as aggressive, as blatant, or as successful thus far inthis movement, as believers in the religion of Islam, and Islamists ? asubset of that faith. The latter are religious fundamentalists aspiringto a worldwide caliphate, underscored by what they call "jihad," inaddition to a political, ideological and economic way of life known asShariah law."

The lesson to be learned here is that the Islamists have been keen to follow the successful template put in place over the last century by the left. By controlling the institutions which create culture - education being a primary molder of societal mores - you eventually control the culture. This is not happening in the dark, though gaining access to the process and understanding it does take some effort, it's happening above board in a high stakes effort to incrementally make the West Shari'a compliant, in this case mugging the truth so that the seditious doctrine of multiculturalism will not be challenged.
