October 1, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Tariq Ramadan, the son of [now deceased] Said Ramadan, former Secty. General of the World Islamic Council [source, http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05193/536684.stm] and grandson of Hassan Al Banna [see, Wiki bio, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tariq_Ramadan] the 1928 founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, is headlining the 16th Annual CAIR Banquet on October 9.
According to the Weekly Standard, it was Said Ramadan who was the likely author of the Muslim Brotherhood's ambitious plan to topple Western democracies, variously called, "the Plan" or "the Project." The document was entered into evidence in U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation, America's most important terror funding prosecution.
"Said Ramadan was one of the most important Islamist thinkers of the 20th century. He is probably the author of "The Project," a 14-page document dated 1982 found by the Swiss secret service in 2001. "The Project" is a roadmap for installing Islamic regimes in the West by propaganda, preaching, and if necessary war." CAIR is a notorious Islamist organization which practices stealth jihad while claiming moderation. It was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the above noted U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation prosecution which resulted in all defendants being found guilty on 108 charges.
"Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich sent the letter last month to four members of Congress who asked for details last fall on how CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the terror-finance trial against the Holy Land Foundation and its former officials." As if associating CAIR with a HAMAS funding trial wasn't enough, one of those convicted in Holy Land was Ghassan Elashi, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, he was already serving a long sentence for a previous terror conviction.
Among those to be honored [appropriately] at the CAIR event, "a lifetime achievement award will be presented to noted journalist Helen Thomas..." [source, http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/tariq-ramadan-to-keynote-cair-annual-banquet-on-oct-9-102360519.html]
CAIR's 2008 Banquet featured some unexpected entertainment, attorney "David Yerushalmi arranged for them publicly to be served with legal notice of the claim alleging a staff member improperly represented himself as a lawyer." [source WND, http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=82025].
