Ahmadinejad Declares Iran a "Nuclear State"

February 11, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Against a backdrop which finds the Western world in a state of paralysis and denial regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions, today the country's dictator, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that Iran had succeeded in enriching uranium to a weapons grade level.

The boast accompanied a statement yesterday again threatening Israel saying that it should be destroyed now, "once and for all."

The announcement was made on a day in which anti-government demonstrations were planned across the country, especially in Tehran. Though reports are still spotty coming out of the country it appears that government action designed to limit access to the city by the protesters was largely successful.

Towards that end, the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday reported that Iran's telecom chief has jammed internet access to Google's Gmail service in an attempt to further hamper communications among anti-government forces.

Of note, while the Obama administration has been extremely reluctant to show any support for the demonstrators, despite them having been brutalized by Iran's thuggish security force, the State Dept. was quick to denounce the tampering with Google.
