In an interview conducted today with Laredo Police PIO Joseph Baeza he officially denied the incident[s] had happened, "the long and short of it is that...no it did not happen."
Detective Baeza went on to characterize Laredo, a town of approximately 250,000 as a peaceful city with 6 murders over the last year, which seems to be well below other Texas cities and far below crime capitals such as Oakland, CA and Chicago, Ill. The video concentrates on Islam's long tradition of building mosques on top of previously existing Christian and Jewish houses of worship, a symbol of triumphant victory for Muslim armies.
Examples mentioned are the building of the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem over Judaism's most holy site, the Temple Mount, the construction of a similar mosque on the site of St. Sophia Basilica when Istanbul was captured by the Moors and the building of the Cordoba mosque over a pre-existing Christian cathedral.
Point man in the 911 mosque building project is imam Faisal Rauf, whose media friendly demeanor as a "moderate" defies his inability to condemn Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood [which created Hamas] as terrorist organizations, with the Muslim Brotherhood also serving as the intellectual ancestor for most of today's Islamic terrorism.
July 19, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - While the San Francisco media is usually more than willing to cover local rallies and demonstrations, it is far more reluctant - bordering on phobic - to analyze and comment upon the key attribute most of these gatherings share in common...in your face leftist extremism.
A case in point, Walnut Creek, California where a little First Amendment experiment was staged today, a rally sponsored by supporters of Johannes Mehserle, the BART transportation policeman who was convicted two weeks ago of involuntary manslaughter in the January 1 shooting of Oakland resident, Oscar Grant, who had been resisting arrest.
Today's counter-demonstrators, supporters of Grant, were in heavy proportion self-identified Marxists. featuring some of the Bay Area hard left's most dedicated revolutionaries.
Freely circulated at this and similar events was a blizzard of written screeds, radical position papers and the like.
Typical was a broadsheet [one side in English, the other in Spanish] in support of the Revcom.us website, which touts, "This is the official website for Revolution newspaper, voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA. We extend our endorsement to the site, bobavakian.net, for authentic audio recordings (and related promotional materials) of talks by the Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, Bob Avakian."
The Revcom document reads in part, "We live under a system of capitalism-imperialism, a system in which U.S. imperialism is the most monstrous, most oppressive superpower...a system driven by a relentless chase for profit, which brings horror upon horror, a nightmare seemingly without end, for the vast majority of humanity..."
From this indictment, the narrative continues, "...now IS the time to be WORKING FOR REVOLUTION - to be stepping up resistance while building a movement for revolution - to prepare for the time when it WILL be possible to go all out and seize power."
Another one of the groups present at this protest was International Answer, a Marxist group which is a mainstay at national demonstrations.

July 19, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - A demonstration is scheduled to be held today between 2 and 5 p.m. in Walnut Creek, California, a liberal San Francisco 'burb.
The gathering is intended as a show of support for Johannes Mehserle, the BART policeman recently found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Oscar Grant, a young black man. It will take place adjacent the city's courthouse, which is located at 650 Ygnacio Valley Road.
Though there has been no evidence that the rally organizers intend anything other than a show of support for the police, the lefty blogosphere is already rife with condemnation and hints of violence.
Often absent in reportage regarding Mehserle is mention that Grant was a two-time convicted felon, "Horowitch said he met Grant, who served two short state prison terms for various felonies, when both men were incarcerated in the Alameda County Jail in Dublin "a few years ago." It is of course expected that the hard left would jump to support the baseless charges recently made by the NAACP, that the Tea Party movement is rife with racists.
Within Alternet's screed however is contained an additional critique, charging the Tea Party with Islamophobia.
What is mind bending about the charge is not any substance that it contains - of course that is entirely lacking - but that the allegation is made by the radical Muslim organization CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations.
CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in America's largest [and most successful] prosecution of terror funding, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation. During this proceeding, the founder of the Texas chapter of CAIR, Ghassan Elashi and four other defendants were found guilty on all 107 charges of variously working to fund the Palestinian terrorist group HAMAS to the tune of $12 million.

This is what crowds on board a Turkish ship bound for Gaza were shouting on May 31. The ship was part of a so-called "humanitarian flotilla" which failed to break Israeli naval blockade on Gaza. A Turkish man named Bülent Yildirim, an Islamist partner of Turkey's prime minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan, was also on board that Turkish ship. A Turkish American citizen recently wrote an open letter to Erdogan, claiming: "About a year ago, Bülent Yildirim delivered a jihadist speech in Gaza to tens of thousands of Hamas supporters, declaring Israel, the United States and England as 'terrorist countries.' Yildirim addressed the Hamas supporters as "the children of paradise.'"
What happened at Khaybar back in 628/29? Khaybar was rich and prosperous and it was there that a Jewish tribe which had been driven out of Medina by Muhammad, the anything but peaceful Muslim prophet, had found refuge. In 628, Muhammed decided to make war on those Jews and subsequently defeated them. One of the Jewish girls captured was 17-year old Safiyya whom Muhammed took for himself after killing her husband. "To take women from a defeated enemy and use them as slaves or concubines was already permitted," writes John Bagot Glubb in his biography on Muhammad. "The spoils of Khaybar (Kheibar) proved to be the richest which God had yet bestowed upon the believers," Glubb writes. The battle of Khaybar became a symbol of Muslim conquest and especially of the defeat of the Jews at the hands of the Muslims.
Today, Islamists and Muslim anti-Semites (Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, etc.) invoke the battle of Khaybar to justify their ferocious hatred of Israel and the Jews.

July 12, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - In a breath of much needed fresh air, Democrat voters have, through a series of YouTube videos, charged that the 2008 Obama campaign gamed the caucus system in order to fraudulently install the then Senator as the Democrat nominee.
Those appearing in the video represent all age groups and many different ethnicities including African Americans and Hispanics. All relate a common theme, that thuggish Dem operatives shouted down, threatened and generally intimidated non-Obama voters.
A number of those participating in the Texas caucus told of an overheard conversation between three women and a man who were apparently plotting to stuff the caucus ballot process for Obama.
The back story here is that though the information and video interviews have been made available to all broadcast and print media, only Fox News has chosen to go public with the information and that appears to have been in limited form.

The explosions centered on two bars frequented by World Cup revelers.
The announced death toll so far is 64, with many wounded.
According to a report by the UK Telegraph, a severed head of a Somali was found at the scene of one of the bombings, indicating that he might have been a suicide bomber and the obvious links therefore to the al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab. July 12, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - The ISAF command in Afghanistan is increasingly linking that country's Taliban with Pakistan [and al-Qaeda], the effect of which might de-couple efforts, supported by team Obama, especially at the State Department, to legitimize the terrorist Islamic fundamentalist group for purposes of including it in Afghan's future system of governance.
A September 11 press release from ISAF reads:
"An Afghan and international security force killed several insurgents and detained two suspected insurgents in Ghazni province yesterday while pursuing a Taliban commander in direct contact with Taliban leadership in Pakistan and associated with Al Qaeda and Commander Nazir Group."
The release further notes that the Taliban is working with the Haqqani network, a powerful al-Qaeda linked Muslim group operating in both Pakistan and Afghanistan, "The group is known for assassinations and intimidation operations against civilians and operates with the Haqqani network in attacks against international forces."
Team Obama is fully wedded to the myth that the Taliban can somehow be defanged and turned into a legitimate political entity.
Chief public spokesman for this view is Secty. State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, who recently said that the U.S. will continue to stand with the Karzai government and Afghanistan while conducting talks with the Taliban about reconciliation, "Clinton has assured Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, that the US will remain committed to his country's security and reconstruction even after American troops have departed...Karzai was in the US on a visit aimed at improving ties with the administration of Barack Obama, his US counterpart. He and his delegation were attending a series of meetings on Tuesday at the US state department as they push a plan for reconciliation with Taliban fighters." It is widely believed that the Karzai government, fearing abandonment by Obama, has opened channels to the Taliban in a calculated move to hedge bets if the U.S. begins its intended withdrawal next summer.

According to a statement on the matter released by DOJ, "The defendants were previously charged with purchasing 17 helicopter engines from Rolls Royce Corporation in Indiana for $4.27 million dollars on behalf of an Iranian trading company, some of which were ultimately sent to HESA, and also causing U.S.-origin airplane vanes and bolts to be exported from the United States to Iran." July 9, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - Recently I had the opportunity to interview a local, young, Latina Community Organizer who is working within a Catholic Parish in the Oakland Diocese. The Pastor with whom she is working is so enamored of this group, CCISCO, (Contra Costa Interfaith Supporting Community of Organizing) that he has placed their logo on his parish letterhead stationery and provided this woman with an office and committee within the parish. Parish committees are referred to as Local Organizing Committees - LOC. The committee at this particular church is an all Latino committee ?because we can?t get anybody else to join? she said. The Chancery takes no position on the development of these groups within the parish and, therefore, within the diocese.
The young woman stated that she is working with 4 of the 5 Catholic parishes in Concord. CCISCO is also working with other Contra Costa based Denominations and local legislators as well. Outside of Contra Costa County, in Alameda County, other community organizing groups are active within churches. Community of Renewal - COR - is one of these groups.

Judge of UK Shari'a Court Declares War on Terror a "War Against Islam and Muslims"
July 6, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - On the eve of the 5th anniversary of the UK's worst case of domestic terrorism - the Muslim bombings which took place on the morning of July 7, 2005, claiming 52 lives - Anjem Choudary, the hate preacher who formerly ran the terror linked Al-Muhajiroun, has warned that if Britain doesn't withdraw its "troops from Muslim countries," and "stop supporting the pirate state of Israel" that even worse attacks will ensue. The four responsible for the 7/7 attack were Hasib Hussain, Mohammad Sidique Khan, Germaine Lindsay and Shehzad Tanweer.
Choudary pointed to a recent study by the Center for Social Cohesion outlining the increasing radicalization of Muslim youth in the UK as evidence that the means to instigate a campaign of home grown terror is firmly in place. The study also closely linked Choudary's Muhajiroun with terrorism.
According to the Center's executive summary:
"Founded in the UK in 1996 by Omar Bakri Mohammed, al-Muhajiroun is also known as al-Ghurabaa, Saviour/Saved Sect, Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'aah and Islam4UK. The group, currently led by Anjem Choudary, calls for the removal of secular regimes and the establishment of an Islamist state in the UK. In January 2010, the Home Office confirmed that al-Muhajiroun is a proscribed organisation, as the group is an alternative name for al-Ghurabaa and Saviour/Saved Sect - groups banned in 2006. Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'aah, also mentioned in this report, was formed in the UK in November 2005 by former leading members of al-Muhajiroun, after that organisation was disbanded in 2004. Like its predecessors, this group calls for the establishment of an Islamist state in the UK. However, after some of its leading members were jailed in 2008, the name is no longer used."
Also mentioned in the study were terrorists allegedly linked to Al-Muhajiroun including Amer Mirza, "...the first member of al-Muhajiroun (a group now proscribed in the UK) to be convicted of Islamism-related terrorism offences. He had attempted to petrol bomb a Territorial Army basein West London," and Iftikhar Ali, "the first person convicted of inciting racial hatred with an Islamic religious text. Ali was distributing al-Muhajiroun leaflets which called for a holy war against Jews."

June 30, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - Showing signs that he is feeling the heat from an increasing chorus of serious voices demanding a stop to the building of a proposed mega-mosque within throwing distance of the 911 ground zero site, Mayor Bloomberg has issued a clarifying statement regarding his support for the project.
"If somebody wants to build a religious house of worship, they should do it and we shouldn't be in the business of picking which religions can and which religions can't. I think it's fair to say if somebody was going to try to on that piece of property build a church or a synagogue, nobody would be yelling and screaming. And the fact of the matter is that Muslims have a right to do it too. What is great about America and particularly New York is we welcome everybody and I just- you know, if we are so afraid of something like this, what does it say about us? Democracy is stronger than this. You know, the ability to practice your religion is the- was one of the real reasons America was founded. And for us to say no is just, I think, not appropriate is a nice way to phrase it."
Bloomberg's statement is not at all surprising because supporting Rauf's project takes the path of least political resistance, it's the easy way out...at least at the current juncture, and therefore such a response is consistent with someone who apparently has few core beliefs aside from trying to cultivate a touchy-feely multicultural image.
Primarily, he errs in treating Rauf's proposal as if it was just another mundane project, removing it from the context necessary to properly weigh the issue.
The context is as follows:
Rauf is an Islamist, he believes in political Islam, extending, through the imposition of Islamic religious law, the reach of Shari'a. He believes that Shari'a should be integrated into the American system of governance, a position which by necessity dictates a consequent diminution of the foundational principles - especially the Judeo-Christian ethic - upon which this country and by extension the West, was built.
In his 2006 book, "What's Right with Islam," he states, "for America to score even higher on the 'Islamic' or 'Shariah compliance' scale, America would need to do two things: invite the voices of all religions to join the dialogue in shaping the nation's practical life and allow religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws..."
For a glimpse of where this logic can take a culture, one need only look at the UK where now, because of a reliance on the same simplistic relativism Bloomberg is employing, there exists a de-facto bifurcated society, one aggressively Muslim, the other passively post Judeo-Christian with an officially recognized, two-tiered system of jurisprudence, one for Muslims another for everyone else.

His legal action is also fueled by claims that his "honor and dignity" have been impugned.
Ramadan was fired from his position as an integration advisor after he began appearing on a weekly Iranian government funded television show broadcast on Press TV.

Naik - a hard core fundamentalist - has in his speaking engagements displayed particular enmity towards the Jews, whom he has declared control the world through its financial institutions.
Naik also has condoned the killing of Muslim apostates, calling their offense "treason."

June 28, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNew.org - Four Christian missionaries in Dearborn were recently subjected to a Shari'a enforcement action, arrested by local police for the "crime" of distributing non-Islamic religious leaflets at a Muslim festival.
The Dearborn 4 are being represented by the Thomas More Law Center, a public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan which specializes in the preservation of religious liberty.
Arrested for breach of peace were, Negeen Mayel, Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, Paul Rezkalla, and David Wood.
Mayel an Afghani immigrant and convert to Christianity, had her camera seized by police even though she was over 100 feet away from the event.
The Dearborn police department is run by Ron Haddad, its first Arab American chief.
Contacted for a comment, Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, stated:
"These Christian missionaries were exercising their Constitutional rights to free speech and the free exercise of religion, but apparently the Constitution carries little weight in Dearborn, where the Muslim population seems to dominate the political apparatus. It's apparent that these arrests were a retaliatory action over the embarrassing video of the strong arm tactics used last year by Festival Security Guards. This time, the first thing police officers did before making the arrests was to confiscate the video cameras in order to prevent a recording of what was actually happening."

Yet, Mr. Bouterse is a man to watched closely.
As military coup leader back in the 1980s, Bouterse flirted with Nicaragua's neo-Marxist Sandinists, Grenada's Marxist prime minister Maurice Bishop and Fidel Castro's Cuba. And he is now on very good terms with Venezuela's eccentric president Hugo Chávez and probably likes Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, too.
Both Bouterse and Chávez supplied weapons to Colombia's Marxist guerrilla movement FARC. Democracy in Suriname was restored in 1987 but Bouterse has remained a powerful figure ever since. In July 1999, he was convicted in absentia in the Netherlands for drug trafficking. In March 1986, Bouterse's assistant Etienne Boerenveen, a close associate of Desi Bouterse, was arrested in Miami. Posing as Latin American drug dealers US Drug Enforcement Administration officials had set a trap for him. In exchange for ten million dollars Boerenveen told them Surinamese airports, roads and ports would be made available for drug transports.

Since support of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood is almost emblematic among radical Muslims, few if any are willing to condemn these organizations in public - it's a bad career move, could stop funding.
With this in mind Aaron Klein, a World Net Daily reporter and host of a New York radio talk show, invited Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf - the lead proponent of an effort [the Cordoba Initiative] to construct a towering mosque within throwing distance of Ground Zero, the former World Trade Center destroyed by Muslim terrorists on September 11, 2001 - to appear on his program.
It's still unclear why Rauf decided to call his building plan the Cordoba Initiative, given Spain's unpleasant experience during its 700 odd years of Islamic subjugation.
Getting the interview started, and after posing a number on innocuous questions to the imam, which he fielded in his usual deft manner, Klein went on the offensive, asking Rauf pointedly if Hamas was a terrorist organization as designated in 1995 by the Clinton State Department.
Rauf responded in what has now become the classic manner of the Islamist.
He adamantly refused to identify Hamas as a terrorist group, nervously dancing around the topic while claiming he was a "bridge builder," doing everything he could to avoid directly confronting the issue. The most serious of the charges - attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and an act of attempted terrorism transcending national boundaries - both carry mandatory life sentences.
Shahzad appeared petulant during the proceedings, at one point glaring while stating that he considered himself a "Muslim soldier," engaged in warfare against the United States.

June 15, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - A little over a year after the president's much ballyhooed Muslim outreach speech delivered in Cairo, Egypt, the results seem to be in.
The picture they present is not pretty; with the level of political disintegration accelerating across the Middle East; it's difficult to find a single positive development that would caution against rejecting Mr. Obama's "new tone" with Islam.
A few observations:
1. Gaza flotilla - this event should be considered the poster child for the failed Obama foreign policy. The reflexive condemnation of Israel by the majority of world opinion - and the nonexistent level of support for the Jewish state coming out of official DC - has done nothing but embolden the enemy.
2. Turkey appears to be lost for the foreseeable future - at least to this government. Erdogan, feeling the pressure from Turkeys resurgent Islamists, especially the Republican Peoples Party [CHP] has removed constraints on those similarly aligned. By playing up Turkey's leadership role in the Gaza flotilla, Erdogan had ridden a wave of popular approval evident in huge pro-Hamas street demonstrations. Unless things change substantially and very quickly, you can assign the loss of Turkey to the amateurs in the WH.
3. Hamid Karzai - Fearful of being abandoned by the administration, the Afghan president is wisely hedging bets with the Taliban in anticipation of what might result from a hasty U.S. withdrawal. In his latest statements Karzai is claiming that the U.S. can't defeat Taliban which plays into the narrative that U.S. Commander Gen. William McChrystal is being hindered by Kabul's reluctance to assist in the much anticipated push against enemy strongholds in Helmand and other key provinces. Additionally, it appears that most of team Obama's on the ground Afghan advisors, especially the estimable Clinton retread Richard Holbrook [U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan] can't seem to get along with the government which team Obama is professing to aid. The animosity is particularly evident between Karzai and Holbrooke, who was MIA during Obama's March visit to the area, posing the question who is running day to day operations?
June 14, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Susan Rice indicated that the United States will not block a UN led "international investigation," of the events surrounding the Israeli interdiction of a Hamas support ship which was attempting to run the naval blockade of Gaza two weeks ago.
Pressed repeated by Chris Wallace, Rice attempted to place the Obama administration's refusal to block what many feel would become another Israel bashing, in the best light but to little effect.
Both Congressman Keith Ellison [DFL-MN] and Andre Carson [D-IN] are scheduled to speak at the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America [ISNA].
ISNA was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the United States' most extensive prosecution of terror funding, U.S. vs. Holy Land Foundation [HLF], which proved the phony Islamic charity HLF, gave at least $12 million dollars to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
ISNA has credibly been reported as having substantial funding from Saudi Arabia, "Some of ISNA's own members have raised concerns on another issue: large donations from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia follows an extreme version of Islam known as Wahhabism, and questions continue to swirl around Saudi connections to terrorism, including the attack on 9-11. A videotape obtained by Eyewitness News shows a 1994 ISNA convention where one member questioned why the organization accepted more than $500,000 dollars in Saudi donations. June 7, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The human rights group Stop Islamization of America [SIOA] sponsored an extremely well attended rally in lower Manhattan on June 6, to protest the planned construction of a large mosque overlooking Ground Zero.
SIOA has long been active in defending human rights, religious liberty as well as ensuring preservation of freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to make the United States compliant with Shari'a [Islamic law].
The event was held at the corner of Church and Liberty Streets, near the site of the September 11, 2001 Muslim terrorist attack.
Turnout was impressive, despite the last minute cancelling of a previously issued permit. Participants came from as far away as Washington state, California, Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, South Carolina, Florida, and elsewhere. Many religious denominations were represented including Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, atheists and Muslims of conscience.
Police estimated the size of the crowd to be 5,000 but independent sources put the figure closer 10,000.
Supporting groups included the Freedom Defense Initiative; ACT for America (ACT Manhattan chapter); Z Street; SIOE; No Mosque at Ground Zero; Staten Island Tea Party; American Bulldogs; VAST; the Center for Security Policy; Shalom International; the Unity Coalition for Israel; 911 Families; Indian American Intellectuals Forum; Veterans Against Jihad (VAJ); and Faith Freedom International.
A large contingent of speakers addressed the group's concerns including Pamela Geller Executive Director, SIOA and Robert Spencer, Associate Director, SIOA.
Also giving voice to their concerns were C. Lee Hanson [lost his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter on 9/11], Anders Gravers [of Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE)],

June 7, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - According to information carried on a semi-official Iranian website, Mehr, Iran's Red Crescent has announced that it will attempt to breach Israel's naval blockade of Gaza.
"Iran's Red Crescent Society (RCS) will send humanitarian aids including food and medical supplies to Gaza in the coming days...The aid group is also preparing to send two relief ships to the coast of Gaza..."
The Red Crescent is considered to be a fraudulent healthcare organization which often functions as a jihadist tool.
"The use by terrorist organizations of medical resources, particularly ambulances, in order to bypass the searches and security checks in IDF checkpoints emphasizes the need for a security check of medical vehicles," an IDF statement announced. "Such searches are conducted in order to ensure that ambulances are not used by terrorists in an attempt to transport terrorists, weaponry and explosive devices." One of the most prominent incidents highlighted by Israeli security agencies is the suicide bombing attack on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem on January 27, 2002, in which an Israeli civilian was killed and over 100 were injured. The suicide bombing was carried out by Waffa Idris, a resident of the Amari refugee camp near Ramallah. Idris acted as a medical secretary in the Palestinian Red Crescent. Following an investigation by Israeli security forces, it appears that the Palestinian suicide bombers were dispatched to carry out the attack by Muhamad Hababa, a resident of the village of Beit Iksa near Ramallah, a Tanzim operative and an ambulance driver of the Palestinian Red Crescent. An additional associate to the terror attack was Munzar Nur, a resident of Anabta, near Tulkarm, which worked for the Palestinian Red Crescent as well." Ms Hardy's words parallel the goals and mission of the latest federal Five year plan for expansion of the National Science Foundation mission and budget.
The House of Representatives has just today, May 28th, passed a major piece of
work entitled the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2009 which is a bill to fund the National Science foundation. (see the official press release at the end of this article).
The National Science Foundation reauthorization lingered in the U.S. Congress's Committee on Science and Technology for the last year while 52 Amendments were fought over. The bill was authored by the chairman of the committee, Tennessee Democrat, Bart Gordon. It is a 120 page bill. The original bill number, HR 5116 was changed to HR 5325 because of the need to make several amendments. However, the just issued press release refers to it by its original number of HR 5116.
"The stated purpose of the bill is: "To invest in innovation through research and development, to improve the competitiveness of the United States, and for other purposes."
HR 5325 represents the goals and objectives of the Obama White House in establishing an energetic and urgent public policy on environmental "green" issues, workforce and education partnership issues and Al Gore's favorite, global warming. Though it is not an appropriations bill, it contains requests for billions of tax dollars to implement.
There are four California legislators on this 41 member committee: John Garamendi, (D-Contra Costa), Lynn Woolsey, (D-Santa Rosa), Brian Bilbray, (R-Solano Beach) and Dana Rohrabacher, (R-Huntington Beach).

June 2, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As noted by Frank Gaffney [president, Center for Security Policy] in How Wars Begin, the actions taken by team Obama over the last year-and-a-half have instead of producing a breakthrough in relations with the Middle East, had the opposite effect, creating a set of conditions which have in the past immediately preceded major conflicts.
Less than halfway through his term in office, the president - on foreign policy matters - has consistently shown weakness, indecision and an unwillingness to confront the nature of the threat coming from the Muslim world, compartmentalizing it in a neat little box and labeling it al-Qaeda.
A more expansive - and correct - understanding would define the challenge to this culture as existential, emanating from a widely adhered to and politicized version of the Muslim faith - Islamism.
The modern iteration of Islamism is comprised of violent as well as stealth components, dual pathways to the same goal of establishing the supremacy of Shari'a throughout the non-Muslim world. Violent jihad is an ever-present specter [one rapidly increasing in this country] in the form of jihadist attacks such as that perpetrated by Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan at Ft. Hood last year.
The stealth jihad is the iron fist in the velvet glove and unfortunately is not widely understood. It can however, be seen in such things as the attempt by imam Rauf - and his covert funders - to build a multi-million dollar mosque on the site of radical Islam's most significant victory against the United States. Such efforts are proof positive of Islamist triumphalism, in this case the ability to survey, from the fifteenth floor of a mosque the devastation that Rauf's co-religionists wrought on September 11.
Unbelievably, this and similar schemes are offered and accepted by opinion makers - straight faced - as examples of tolerance.
Because the administration's foreign policy is based on a set of intentional misrepresentations it finds itself as a major cause of the current ME crisis. It has painted itself into a corner sending by every possible method the wrong signal to the radical Muslim world, which is now taking advantage of Obama's purposeful tipping away from Israel and towards advocacy on behalf of the radical Palestinians.
Thus Obama's foreign policy is seen either as weakness or as tacit agreement by the jihadists and both of these interpretations tie our hands in attempting to defuse the current crisis.

Himmler's rather fanatical and obsessive confrontation with Christianity and the Catholic and protestant churches played a much more central role in his life and thinking than some biographers assume. Himmler and his close associate Reinhard Heydrich even clashed with the Roman Catholic bishops of Austria, even though these bishops were rather pro-Hitler at the time.
Himmler and his murderous SS-organization were responsible for the death of 6 million Jews during the Second World War. The allies were informed as early as the summer of 1942 about the fate the Jews. The British and Americans then received information from a reliable source in Germany that the Nazis planned to exterminate millions of Jews by using 'prussic acid' (Zyklon B). Himmler had visited the Auschwitz extermination camp in July 1942 and pressed for acceleration of the extermination programme. Through a peephole in the gas chamber door he personally witnessed how 499 Dutch Jews were being gassed by using Zyklon B.
Recent investigations into the number of Jews killed by the Nazis confirm that the total number is at least 6 million, possibly even higher. These recent findings specifically provide more information about the more than 2 million Jews executed in cold blood by Himmler's SS-killing commandos - the so-called "Einsatzgruppen" and the formations of the "Ordungspolizei" ("Order police") - in Nazi occupied Russia, White Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic and Poland.
May 31, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Tiring of seeing alleged humanitarian aid being delivered to the Hamas government in Gaza by a rag-tag consortium of radical supporters, Israel this morning signaled its policy of silently bowing to skewed world public opinion had ended.
Sometime this morning IDF soldiers stormed aboard the six vessel flotilla seizing control of it from what was estimated to be hundreds of pro-Hamas terror supporters. At least 10 deaths have been confirmed with the toll potentially going higher.
Previous to the vessel sailing from Cypress, the Israeli government had repeatedly warned the activists that they would not be permitted to complete their intended journey.
As quoted by the Los Angeles Times [see, http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/middleeast/la-fg-israel-protesters-slain-20100531,0,2138270.story] Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Avalon referred to the aid effort an, "armada of hate and violence," that was engaging in a "premeditated and outrageous provocation."
During the operation IDF soldiers came under attack, taking incoming fire from the ships and being attacked by knife and club wielding protesters once aboard.
Two IDF soldiers were seriously injured as a result of the incident.
Indicating the severity of the brief confrontation, the official IDF press release tersely stated, "Navy fighters took control of six ships that tried to violate the naval blockade...During the takeover, the soldiers encountered serious physical violence by the protesters, who attacked them with live fire." Against the expected firestorm of protest from Europe [the pro-Hamas UN has called an "urgent" security session] the Israeli government held firm, indicating its full support of the operation.
May 26, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - As reported by the Islam in Europe blog, planned demonstrations in Brussels by radical Muslims displeased by Belgium's move to ban certain Islamic head coverings - including that which is considered most extreme, the burqa - was not permitted to go forward by the country's law enforcement authorities.
The main group involved calls itself Sharia4Belgium/MuslimsRise. They advocate forcing Shari'a compliance throughout the West.
On April 22 the lower house of the Belgian parliament voted to require the ban.
Though the protests were not held in Brussels, supporters of the group protested in London. in front of the Belgian embassy.
A YouTube video posted by Sharia4Belgium/MuslimsRise carried the following message
"[sic] 22nd May 22010 Muslim's in the United Kingdom demonstrated regarding the 'Bann on the Veil" in Belgium. The Messenger Muhammad(saw) said 'this Ummah(nation) is one Ummah to the exclusion of all others: thie land is ONE, their war is ONE, thier peace is one & their Honour is One. any one of you can represent all of you'. Oh Allah(swt) creator of the heavens and earths except the efforts of the muslims in the UK. Ameen.'"
The incessant and rising push for Shari'a among Europe's Muslims is believed by many to foreshadow a similar effort in the United States, with the move by Islamists in New York to build a $100 million mosque in close proximity to the 911 ground zero site being only the most recent example.
Opponents of the plan were handed a setback on May 25 when a local community board went dhimmi, voting 29-1 in favor of the mosque. 10 abstained to vote on the controversial measure.

May 24, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The group - 9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America, (9/11 FSSA) - has announced that it adamantly rejects the plan for a mosque to be built atop a planned 15-story structure that would tower over the site where nearly 3,000 people were killed by Islamic terrorists.
According to the project's leader, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the mosque and "Muslim-led community center" is to be called the Cordoba House, named after the historic period when the Islamic Caliphate in Cordoba ruled much of Europe and non-Muslims lived as second-class citizens under Islamic rule.
Victims' families view the imam's expressed plan to "leverage" the mosque's proximity to Ground Zero to engage in proselytizing and to "grow the Muslim community," as shockingly insensitive to the history of the site where their loved ones were slaughtered in the worst terrorist attack by extremist Muslims in America's history; following the attack, 20,000 body parts were recovered in a nine-month operation to remove 1.8 million tons of rubble from Lower Manhattan.
"Imam Rauf is a Muslim cleric who, immediately after 9/11, blamed the attacks on U.S. treatment of Muslims, asserting that Osama Bin Ladin was 'made in the U.S.A,'" said Debra Burlingame, co-founder of 9/11 FSSA, whose brother was the pilot of the American Airlines flight which was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon. "We do not accept the Cordoba organization's view that we need Imam Rauf to lecture us about religious tolerance in a city still dealing with the consequences of the attack that he claims we brought on ourselves."
Last Monday, representatives of 9/11 FSSA met with Sharif El-Gamal, owner and CEO of Soho Properties, the corporation that purchased the two buildings where the mosque will be built at 43-45 Park Place, and asked him to name the investors in the mosque project. Mr. El-Gamal refused, citing the advice of his attorneys, stating that "this is private property" and that "we can build this 'as of right.'" The property was purchased with $4.85 million in cash.
Imam Rauf is now publicly stating in a professionally-organized PR campaign that the building will be a community center, "not a mosque." However, Mr. El-Gamal showed 9/11 FSSA members architectural renderings in which a mosque, located on the top floor of the 15-story building, would have a commanding view of the entire Ground Zero neighborhood.

The now proven unfounded "assault" consisted of an alleged slap delivered to the terrorist as he was taken into custody.

In a letter to the president, the congressman pointed out that the 14 specific "points of failure" detailed within the report might well have been prevented if a thorough outside review of the nation's counterterrorism policies had already been completed.

Understandably the media will never admit to this, regardless of how thoroughly the phenomenon is documented, another test suggesting the presence of bias and an inability to accept reality.
I have found this to be the case in dozens and dozens of off-the-record, deep background chats with journalists who simply will not admit that they are frequently nothing more than purveyors of agendized leftist propaganda.
One such conversation comes to mind in which I challenged a prominent West coast reporter - during a telephone conversation - over coverage of a speech by a key member of the G.W. Bush administration. After wrangling for several minutes over the article's almost complete failure to mention anything that this former official said during his address, this reporter finally admitted, not bias, but to the creation of a story - a controversy - where none existed because otherwise, "it wasn't news." This - translated - means it's not news unless it fits the working narrative and if it doesn't, then it will be bludgeoned into correct form.

Behind these huge operations of migrant trafficking are powerful criminal African and North African organizations which bribe the police, customs officials and other local officials as well as (African) government ministers. Each illegal immigant has to pay up to 3000 euros to the trafficking organizations. These mafia organizations receive some 300 million dollars (237 million euros) annually for their clandestine services (bribing of officials, document forgery, etc.), according to a United Nations report. Many of these organizations are run by Nigerians, the report says.1
Nigeria and Somalia are significant source countries of criminals and terrorists who operate on an international scale. Hundreds of thousands of Nigerian and Somali immigrants have entered Europe and North America in recent years, posing great strains on Western societies. Western intelligence and security services are monitoring radicalized African Muslim males who enthousiastically endorse jihadist ideologies linked to Al-Qaeda. An increasing number of them even wants to join the jihad against the West and die as a suicide bomber or so-called "martyr."
The origins of Al-Qaeda lie both in Afghanistan/Pakistan and Africa. After taking part in the jihad against the Soviet occupiers of Afghanistan and founding Al-Qaeda in 1988, Osama bin Laden set up base in Sudan (1992). Four years later, though, he returned to Afghanistan establishing more training camps and expanding Al-Qaeda into a truly global terror network, in close cooperation with his Egyptian friend Ayman Al-Zawahiri. The first time I heard about bin Laden and Al-Zawahiri was in 1996.
May 17, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - According to a study done by the New York Post - published in its Sunday edition - an increasingly controversial plan to build a $100 million dollar, 13 story mosque just two blocks away from the epicenter of the Muslim terrorist attacks of September 11 is seriously short of funding and engulfed in questions regarding the motivation of its proponents.
The newspaper's story goes on to show that the organizations which are publicly leading the effort - the American Society for Muslim Advancement [ASMA] and the Cordoba Initiative - together have assets of less than $1 million.
"The American Society for Muslim Advancement, which proposed the center, has assets of less than $1 million...[and a] sister organization, the Cordoba Initiative, listed assets of less than $20,000 in 2008. Its tax filings do not disclose at least $60,000 in private contributions, a Post analysis found, raising questions about where the money went."

This lack of funds raises additional fears that the shortfall will be made up from the deep pocket fundamentalist Wahhabis and Salafists of the Middle East who will use the erecting of a mosque at ground zero as a means of extending cultural and religious hegemony.
In his public utterances and activities Imam Feisal has demonstrated skill in building a non-threatening persona, having created a media friendly image of moderation despite a record of extremist and plainly bizarre statements.
For example, during the second segment of the CBS News show 60 minutes broadcast on September 30, 2001, Feisal Abdul Rauf - the alleged moderate - engaged host Ed Bradley in the following manner:
Bradley: "Are you in any way suggesting that we in the United States deserved what happened?"
Faisal: "I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened, but United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened."
Bradley: "You say that we're an accessory? How?"
Faisal: "Because we have been accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. In fact, in the most direct sense Osama bin-Laden is made in the U.S.A."

Feisal has also claimed that the essential elements of Shari'a - Islamic religious law - are embodied in the American Constitution which seems to be a naked attempt on his part to create a moral equivalency where none exists.
"Islamic law and American democratic principles have many things in common...The framers of the Constitution wrote that they were establishing justice, ensuring domestic tranquility, promoting the general welfare and securing the blessings of liberty. Imam Feisal has assured critics that the building of a mosque - on sacred ground, soaked in the blood of innocents - is neither insensitive nor intentionally antagonistic. However when seen clearly, it's an outrageous and blatant act of Muslim domination...a concept dredged up from the 7th century.
That the takiyya laden Feisal and his murky group of backers are so blind as to be unable or unwilling to see the offensive nature of such a move - perhaps the most singularly insensitive and indeed warlike move that any Muslim could propose - speaks with elegant testimony to the assertion that advocates of radical Islam will not stop until both their violent as well as the stealth jihad - of which Feisal could be the poster child - are defeated.
If this is what moderate Islam is all about perhaps a rethinking on our part of the religion's capacity to coexist at any level with the West is in order.

Holder: "...there are a variety of reasons why these people have taken these actions...you have to look at each individual case..."
He even refused to confront the religious issue in general.
Holder: "...I don't want to say anything negative about a religion..."
However, Holder, who didn't consider himself knowledgeable enough to define "radical Islam" to the extent necessary to directly answer Mr. Smith's pointed queries nonetheless considered himself sufficiently enlightened to make the far more global claim that "radical Islam" is inconsistent with Islam in general.
Holder: "...potentially incited by an Islam that is inconsistent with its history...like Anwar Awlaki for instance, who has a version of Islam that is not consistent with the teachings of it..."
Generally it is understood that a great deal of study of the Qur'an, often aided by the ability to read Arabic, is required to make such religious determinations and those who are qualified have a name, they are called imams.
This was a skill set entirely hidden from Mr. Holder's resume - until yesterday.
As noted by historian Dr. Daniel Pipes:
"I ridiculed "Imam Bush" for telling Muslims about true Islam and its distortion, and now I must ridicule "Sheikh Obama" for the same. He's a politician, not a theologian. He's now a Christian, not a Muslim. He should steer completely clear from the topic of who are good or bad Muslims."

Craig Snider, the director of the DHFC in Philadelphia organized the event.
Dr. Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, introduced Dr. Sultan. In endorsing her book he wrote, "Wafa Sultan paints a scorching, unforgettable portrait of Syrian Muslim society, especially the degradation of its women, and lyrically appreciates her adopted American homeland, which she calls 'the land of dreams.' But she also worries that Middle East customs are encroaching on the West and writes with passion to awaken Americans to a menace they barely recognize, much less fear."
During introductory remarks, Dr. Pipes recounted how Sultan had first questioned Islam after she saw a professor at her medical school in Syria murdered by members of the Muslim Brotherhood who were shouting Allahu Akhbar! This prompted her to look deeper into Islam. After immigrating to America she began writing articles about Islam especially it's misogynist tendencies. Her writings "caught the eye" of producers at Al Jazeera and she was catapulted into prominence after a debate with a sheik in which she, according to Pipes, "...unapologetically said things that are just not said...in public...and even less said by a Muslim and by a woman."
As related by Pipes, during the debate with the sheik among the questions posed was if we are witnessing a clash of civilizations, to which Sultan replied, "No, we are witnessing the clash of something more fundamental, it is a clash between a mentality that belongs to the middle ages and another mentality that belongs to the 21st century."

''At the end of March, US Military Intelligence was informed by US operatives working in the Af/Pak theater on behalf of the D.O.D. that Omar had been detained by Pakistani authorities. One would assume that this would be passed up the chain and that the Secretary of Defense would have been alerted immediately. From what I am hearing, that may not have been the case,'' the analyst, Brad Thor, said.
Omar created the Afghan Taliban in 1994 and is currently on the United States most wanted list for, as the Dept. of State's Rewards for Justice website makes clear, "Mullah Omar's Taliban regime in Afghanistan sheltered Osama bin-Laden and his al-Qai'da network in the years prior to the September 11 attacks."

Charter schools and home schooling have increased commensurately. Many students have left public school to attend the more expensive private schools; others bored with education, have just dropped out.
Is the formerly cherished California educational system cheating the students as parents and critics complain or is it right on target according to the educators and think tanks?
Well, it's a little of both.
California education underwent a major sea change beginning in 1960 with passage of the first Master Plan for Education also referred to as the Donahoe Education Act. Clark Kerr, later to become Chancellor of Cal Berkeley, takes credit as does former legislator, Santa Clara University graduate, Jesuit trained, John Vasconcellos, for creating and furthering this Master Plan.
Kerr addresses his goals with a more intellectual approach, couching his ideas in lofty, aesthetic terms. Vasconcellos uses the patois of the hippy era, blaming mainly parents, and church for a failure to prepare and nurture their children for the hard realities and the pleasures of life.
A report on Vasconcellos' plans for our children is contained in an article written by Jeff Fishel, Department of Government School of public Affairs, America University, Washington, D.C. entitled "Leadership for Social Change and the Promise of Humanistic Psychology."
The original Master Plan was that period's California Dream Act, long on ideals, short on ways to attain those ideals and lacking in funds. The main premise, however, was that schools must become accountable for the children that [it was asserted] parents and society were failing.
May 10, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Sunday talk shows have proved themselves relevant for once, yesterday carrying the bombshell twin admissions by AG Holder and WH terror advisor John Brennan that the Pakistani Taliban was involved with Faisal Shahzad's abortive Times Square bombing plot.
Yet it is a safe bet that even visible proof that an al-Qaeda centric terror worldview is counterproductive to a reasonable war fighting strategy will not remove the blinders from team Obama.
From the outset, the president's policy in that regard has been defined by a number of attributes - all of them unsound.
1. A denial that many of the world's Muslims ascribe to a jihadist ideology, allowing the foreign policy team to put forth the politically expedient assertion that al-Qaeda is the sole enemy.
2. A belief that kind words and breast beating will convince the Muslim world that the West and America particularly - because of "colonialism" - take a large measure of responsibility [and apologize for] the hellish conditions faced by nearly every Muslim nation.
3. An assumption that simple mea-culpas are capable of repairing the rift between civilizations in conflict.
4. Faith that attacks by drone aircraft in the most radicalized areas of Pakistan [Waziristan & the tribal areas] will be of consequence in the final outcome of this conflict.
5. A belief that Pakistan - or any Muslim nation - can be more than a reluctant ally of the United States, given the ideological constraints that a radical interpretation of Islam demands.
6. Repeated assertions that "good" elements within the Muslim Brotherhood, the Taliban and other jihadist entities can be reasoned with and are thus amenable to working with the West.
The disclosure by the top WH terror officials that the supposedly malleable Taliban would take such a bold step as to instigate a domestic attack on the United States should in the best-of-all-possible worlds initiate a full rethinking of Obama's [and the Democrat leadership's] anti-terror policy which would in good order be accompanied by a quick and unequivocal rejection of the above noted half-dozen points.
But that is not and will not be the case because the decision making process has been hijacked by leftist ideologues to whom literal reality holds little appeal. One should note the additional complication that the power players in this administration in large part ascribe to the Islamist's critique of this society, especially as it pertains to the supposed sins of Western colonialism.
Refuting the administration's sleight-of-hand manner of dealing with Islamic terrorism only requires an examination of the failure of these foundational principles.

The al-Qaeda linked terror cell first came to public notice when 9 of its members were arrested in 2009.

Aroud's second husband, Moez Garsallaoui was among those found guilty today.

"One thing Obama's critics can't say about him is that he lacks ambition and audacity.
And it is that audacity which was on full display in his first official news conference where he seemed to intentionally avoid taking question from Fox, shunning the favorite media target of the far left.
Obama's performance at the press gaggle, to this reporter at least was given an added dimension - call it the creep factor - produced by the president elect's other worldly, detached and vaguely android-like demeanor, as if the stage upon which he stood wasn't big enough to contain his celestial regality.
Filtering into that creep factor, a more pressing concern. This one regarding the news of His Celestialness' strategy on media legislation and technology initiatives, specifically his intention to create a Federal Office Of Technology, an idea which gained much more traction when IAC executive Julius Genachowski was named to the transition team.
Lest one get the impression that this is merely a case of adding 1 + 1 and getting 3, Genachowski headed the study group which originally advanced the idea of a cabinet level technology czar. [see, Barack Obama: Connecting and Empowering all Americans Through Technology and Innovation]
Let's place Mr G politically, is he an activist or something else? According to FEC filings he has traditionally been a big Dem funder, giving nearly 35k to various Dem candidates over the last 4 years. [see, Genachowski FEC].
By trade, Genachowski is a communication's attorney, most notably having served as chief counsel to Barry Diller's InteraActiveCorp [IAC] which has spawned a host of 'Net based companys including but not limited to: Ticketmaster, Expedia, Hotels.com and LendingTree.
Philosophically, judging from his associations he appears to be a very bright leftist with an already established power base throughout DC, see below:

Though he could easily serve as Obama's Fairness Doctrine Grim Reaper, sharpening his scythe in preparation for the anticipated harvesting of Rush - given his first-hand familiarity with the FCC - that position seems to have already have been promised to Democrat Henry Rivera, whose departure from Reagan's FCC made clear the way to abolish the doctrine in the first place, during the mid 1980s." 1
Mr. Genachowski's machinations at FCC to place the 'Net directly under control of team Obama fortunately ran into a roadblock in early April when a three judge DC judicial panel in a unanimous decision ruled that the FCC has no statuary authority to regulate network management decisions made by Internet provider's.
May 6, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In an August 24, 2009 announcement [see, http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/2009/August/09-ag-835.html] the DOJ's Special Task Force on Interrogations and Transfer Policies issued a set of recommendations to the president.
In the section of the press release covering interrogations, the task force advised the following:
"...the United States could improve its ability to interrogate the most dangerous terrorists by forming a specialized interrogation group, or High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group (HIG), that would bring together the most effective and experienced interrogators and support personnel from across the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense and law enforcement. The creation of the HIG would build upon a proposal developed by the Intelligence Science Board. To accomplish that goal, the Task Force recommended that the HIG should coordinate the deployment of mobile teams of experienced interrogators, analysts, subject matter experts and linguists to conduct interrogations of high-value terrorists if the United States obtains the ability to interrogate them. The primary goal of this elite interrogation group would be gathering intelligence to prevent terrorist attacks and otherwise to protect national security. Advance planning and interagency coordination prior to interrogations would also allow the United States, where appropriate, to preserve the option of gathering information to be used in potential criminal investigations and prosecutions."
Given the lack of focus that team Obama has brought to matters pertaining to terrorism it was not surprising to find out that the HIG still had not been created when Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the "Christmas Bomber," was apprehended on Christmas day.
Now with the attempted Times Square bombing again forcing the administration to publicly deal with the increasing terror threat we find it still unwilling to state categorically that the HIG is an active force.

Determining where Mr. Zakaria's shifting political affectations might be at any one moment is difficult, with his having given lukewarm support for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, but then infamously opposing the now obviously successful 2007 surge, a complete reversal of mind on a key issue in a relatively short period time.
Zakaria's October 2009 statement indicative of a laissez-faire attitude towards an Iranian nuke, "The country does not yet have even one nuclear weapon, and if and when it gets one - something that is far from certain - the world will not end," does nothing to bestow confidence in his ability to provide meaningful guidance on such subjects. Introductory to that alarmingly accommodative pronouncement was the baffling contention that, "When Iran has made gestures, such as suspending nuclear enrichment for two years, Washington has not reciprocated. American support for Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq War remains a source of justifiable bitterness among Iran's leaders, many of whom fought in that conflict," which suggests a belief that Iran's belligerence is at least partially founded in the sins of the West. May 4, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Faisal Shahzad, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Pakistan has been arrested at JFK Airport in New York. Shahzad was removed from a flight bound for Dubai.
Shahzad is believed to be the party responsible for a plot whereby an explosive laden vehicle would have been detonated in Times Square.
According to CBS News, "Shahzad became a naturalized United States citizen on April 17, 2009, but spent much of the past year out of the country. Database information indicated that Shahzad last entered the United States on Feb. 3, 2010 aboard Emirates Flight 201. Shahzad previously departed the United States on June 2, 2009 aboard Emirates Flight 204 for Dubai." The improvised explosive device in Shahzad's car consisted of fertilizer, large propane bottles and containers full of gasoline. The timing device is thought to have been a common alarm clock, wired to trigger the explosion.
Members of Pakistan's terrorist Taliban have taken credit for the failed plot, but so far no concrete evidence has been presented by the government.
It is unclear at this point if the FBI Mirandized Shahzad, a move that would be certain to trigger additional concerns regarding the ability of president Obama to guard against threats to U.S. national security.
