Registration - The Rules & Posting For New Users
PipelineNews.com is the Internet's Premiere conservative political community, and we intend to stay that way!
We provide our readers with original journalism, feature stories, humor, online polls, the 'nets best editorialists and the top news stories of the day.
Want to chat about the news?
Our Forum allows our readers to help build and shape the community by posting news articles from online sources.
Since we are politically CONSERVATIVE we are the final arbiter of who is allowed to post in the discussion area. Posters and comments not deemed to advance the cause will be removed - this is NOT a democracy - we pay the bills.
We do however want to allow you as much leeway as possible while strongly encouraging that you post only articles with political or important current events content, all others will be reviewed and removed if deemed to be too far off base.
Legal Disclaimer: All articles from outside news sources posted on PipelineNews.com are protected by the "Fair Use" doctrine of the copyright law.
Articles posted MUST link to the original source online
Please only post the first two paragraphs of the news article
Please make sure that the author(s) are properly credited
Check your links to make sure they work, some stories cannot be properly linked because they are SUBSCRIPTION based.
If the links don't work, please don't post the article
Please check the latest articles before posting (use "ctrl F") to avoid duplication. Registration on this site is open to all who follow these rules, if you dont agree don't register. Persistent posting of non-germain material will get the offender suspended.
If you are suspended you must plead your case for reinstatement to our staff.
Anyone who is a registered member of PipelineNews.com may reply to any posting. We are not responsible for the content of any reply.
Of course we believe in the First Amendment, but we will absolutely remove posts that we deem to be grossly offensive, excessively combative, vulgar or profane. We owe our readers a pleasant and informative stay.
We want this to be a free wheeling place where ideas and opinions are exchanged and we believe these rules will help towards that end. We really want to keep the phenomenon commonly known as "flaming" to a minimum - the use of ad hominem attacks usually indicates an argument's weakness, PLEASE treat others the way you would like to be treated and remember someone's 12 year old daughter may actually read what you have posted!
If a thread becomes engulfed in a "flame" war our site administrators have been authorized to jump in to restore order. This may include removing offensive posts or even closing or deleting the thread. Please remember that we want to encourage new users to become part of our community, treat them like guests not interlopers.
We also have advertisers visiting the site to evaluate its suitability as a carrier of advertising and we do not want to give them the wrong impression. Advertising makes this site possible, they are our friends.
Technical posting for Newbies
If you are using an MS Windows pc, open a notepad simple text document, go to Start, programs, accessories and then notepad. This will give you something on which to copy the text you will need to create your post.
Now select an online news story.
To post you will need to copy the headline, author, name of the publication and the complete url (include the http part).
Copying is easy, just select the text with your cursor, then place it into memory by hitting Ctrl C (depress the Ctrl key and then hold down "C"), then place the text into your notepad by placing the cursor within the notepad doc and then hitting Ctrl V.
Do this for all the required text.
Now select Post from the navbar at the top of the Pipeline page - this is what it looks like.
Post
Now merely use your notepad document and copy the text into the boxes.
Then hit preview to make sure it looks right (you should also check to make sure the link works) and then hit post - It really is quite easy, give it a try.
On a final note: We hate the term "vanity posts" if you have original journalism please DO NOT post it in the Forum but submit it to us via e-mail attachment news@pipelinenews.org.
If we deem the submission to be suitable we will contact you and offer to publish it, with your permission and after appropriate editing, giving you the byline - We are serious about developing a real staff of alternative news reporters - so send 'em in!
