January 31, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Dutch Appeals Court's decision on Wednesday January 23, 2008, that the so-called "Hofstad Group" is not a terrorist organization, is wrong. The Appeals Court from The Hague overruled a decision taken by the lower Rotterdam Court in 2006 which said that the Hofstad Group was indeed a terrorist organization whose members were inciting to hatred.
The Hofstad Group consisted of a group Dutch-Moroccans and one native Dutch who frequently met in the small two-room Amsterdam house of Mohammed Bouyeri, another Dutch Moroccan who was convicted to life after he killed Dutch columnist and filmmaker Theo van Gogh. On March 30, 2006, the Rotterdam Court convicted 8 members of the Hofstad Group, namely Jason Theodore James Walters, Ismail Akhnikh, Ahmed Hamdi (Bouyeri's house mate), Mohammed Fahmi Boughaba, Nouriddin El Fatmi, Mohammed El Morabit, Zine Labidine Aouraghe and Youssef Ettoumi. All of them appealed except Zine Labidine Aouraghe.
After Theo van Gogh was killed on November 2, 2004, Dutch police arrested most members of the Hofstad Group. In several reports the Dutch Intelligence and Security Service AIVD described the group as "a jihadist network around the charismatic preacher Redouan (or Bassem) Al-Issa," a failed asylum-seeker from Syria. Two members of the group, Jason Walters and Ismail Akhnikh, had visited terrorist training camps in Pakistan in the summer of 2003, the AIVD reported in October 2003. Another key member of the group, Samir Azzouz, was already in pre-trial detention since June 2004. There were indications that he was involved in an armed robbery on a branch of the Edah-supermarket in Rotterdam, and during a thorough house search police discovered a lot of highly interesting material ? there were strong suspicions Azzouz was planning a terrorist attack.
Azzouz was a close friend of Jason Walters' and Ismail Akhnikh's, all of whom are believed to be hard core members of the group. (In its reports the AIVD invariably speaks of a "network" or "group"; for legal reasons prosecutors prefer the term "terrorist organization" ? because the term "organization" is used in article 140a of the Dutch penal code; the Council Frame Work Decision of June 13, 2002, on combating terrorism refers to "a terrorist group.")
January 29, 2008 - Brooklyn, NY - PipeLineNews.org - "Speaking Justice, Speaking Truth," an event held tonight at the Park Slope Methodist Church which was billed as a "Performance in Support of The Khalil Gibran International Academy," seemed more like a wake than a celebration to many observers present.
That feeling was underlined by the evening's speakers, those most intimately involved with the controversial Arab language school, its instructors, some of whom choked back tears while they addressed a crowd of approximately 200.
Instead of touting the school's success, nearly everyone who addressed the assembly talked about the institution's abandonment and loss of support by the DOE, New Visions, and Brooklyn's Arab American Family Support Center [AAFSC].
To those who spoke tonight, the school is a hollow shell of what New York DOE Chancellor Joel Klein had promised, and what Department spokesmen continue to portray in public.
Security problems abound, with one teacher confiding to a member of the KGIA design team that he had been assaulted today but was forced to take the matter to the police because school security did not respond. He further stated that for his efforts he had been reprimanded by school leadership.
January 29, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - John Sidney McCain III entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland in 1954. Young McCain wanted to become an admiral. He planned to achieve the distinction of being the "first son and grandson of four star admirals" . But that was not to be. McCain III possessed none of the innate character and discipline traits that helped mold his father and grandfather into great military leaders.
Family Connections and Special Privileges:
His father, John S. "Junior" McCain, and grandfather, John S. McCain, Sr., were famous four-star Admirals in the U.S. Navy. His father commanded U.S. forces in Europe before becoming commander of American forces fighting in Vietnam. His grandfather commanded naval aviation at the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Both men became highly influential in U.S. Navy operations.
At the Academy, aside being known as a "rowdy, raunchy, underachiever" who resented authority, Cadet McCain became infamous as a leader among his fellow midshipmen for organizing "off-Yard activities" and hard drinking parties. Robert Timberg wrote in his book , The Nightingale's Song, that "being on liberty with John McCain was like being in a train wreck."
McCain's grades were "marginal." He drew so many demerits for breaking curfew and other discipline issues that he graduated fifth from the bottom of the class of 1958. Despite his low "class standing," and no doubt because of the influence of his family of famous Admirals, McCain was leap-frogged ahead of more qualified applicants and granted a coveted slot to be trained as a navy pilot.

January 28, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - "Women" is Bernard Chapin's third work [see our review of his excellent second work Book Review - "Escape From Gangsta Island - A School's Progressive Decline." The book has been long-awaited by the many fans of Chapin's numerous previous columns detailing his views on sexual politics.
Among other things, Chapin is a culture warrior whose observations carry a sense of precision often lacking in other authors who write within that genre. That is perhaps because of his training as a psychologist, but it might just be that he is extraordinarily acute and perceptive.
His current work, as the title suggests is about how the women's revolution especially the radical feminist movement, which has and continues to poison the relationship between men and women. He does this on two levels, one theoretical, in which the intellectual underpinnings of what feminism has come to represent are dissected and then skewered, and the second experiential, illustrating how women constructed along these lines function within a culture that has become outwardly at least, female-centric.
The author carefully demonstrates that the changes that women have undergone, mirror similar changes in society in general, tracing both back to the generational tumult of the 1960s.
Starting with the chapter, "The Fairer Sex" Chapin describes the process whereby women have been transformed into a mythical construct not supportable by either reason or biology, calling it "genitalia mongering," a marketing program which has resulted in non-authentic gender roles and consequently a prodigious amount of misery for both men and women.
January 28, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Much has been said, most notably and often by Senator McCain himself, about how he is the one almost singularly responsible for the, now year old Iraqi "troop surge."
How McCain's imprecise and laborious mouthing of a general need for "more troops" should be the cause of the candidate's gloating, chest beating and taking credit now after the fact, trumping the actual plan now being employed in Iraq with much success - one put forth NOT by Mr. McCain but, working behind the scene with the adminstration, General Jack Keane [Ret] and American Enterprise Institute [AEI] fellow Frederick W. Kagan - is mystifying [see our December 14, 2006 article Choosing Victory].
While McCain's fable has been given wide play now among supporters of his presidential bid as well as his longstanding allies in the liberal media, the truth is far different.
McCain's support for increased deployment of troops to the Iraq theatre was really not that in its purest sense, rather it was - like most of his policy positions - a ruse, a component of a self-serving strategy which allowed him pursue a proxy war against President Bush's conduct of the Iraq conflict, in this case by isolating and then gutting his Defense Secretary, Rumsfeld. McCain's actions in the matter are a continuation of his long record of opposition to the president on nearly every substantial issue of importance to conservatives, from opposing tax cuts, to questionable campaign finance legislation, to giving U.S. Constitutional rights to terrorists. His finger-in-the-eye approach to Mr. Bush also extended to handcuffing his administration on judicial appointments via his support of the gang of 14's opposition to the "nuclear option" on filibusters.
January 25, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLinenews.org - Imran Khan the leader of Pakistan's Islamist Tehrik-e-Insaaf party [PTI], has been welcomed this week with open arms by the U.S. Senate's Democrat leadership, with whom he has held extensive meetings.
Thus far Khan, who infamously fanned the flames internationally promoting the spurious "Quran flushing" incident originally - erroneously reported by Michael Isikoff, setting off riots and bloodshed in the Muslim world - has been greeted by Senate Democrat leader Harry Reid [D-Nevada] as well as Joseph Biden [D-Delaware]. Biden's role as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, places him in a key position in the determination of future aid to Pakistan.
Khan, a former professional cricket player, was jailed by president Musharaff in the tumult leading up to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. He as brought his campaign of undercutting the Pakistani leader to America where he is apparently receiving prominent Democrat support.
Imran Khan's instigation of the riots caused by the Quran flushing rumor seems to have earned him "street cred" with the Taliban supporting Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal [MMA] party, with whose leader, Qazi Hussain, Khan has partnered in hopes of further destabilizing the Musharaff administration.
January 25, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a major blow to Holland's efforts to suppress it's increasing homegrown Islamic jihad, a Dutch court has ruled that the Hofstadgroep, responsible for the conspiracy which resulted in the 2004 assassination of film maker Theo van Gogh, is a "criminal terrorist organization" rather than the previously agreed upon designation as a "terrorist organization."
The distinction is important in Dutch law because nine members of the group possibly received lesser sentences than might have been the case had the original charges been sustained. The high court ruled that there was insufficient proof of the group working together for the purpose of "spreading hate, chaos and threats."
Altogether, nine convicted Hofstadgroep members received varying sentences up to 15 years, however five of those charged were acquitted.
January 25, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a story reported here earlier [see, Muslim Dutch Labor Party Politician Tells Citizen, "Drop Dead, Convert To Islam"] the case of Moroccan born Dutch councilwoman Bouchra Ismaili, who responded to an email query by a native born Netherlander, suggesting that he, "drop dead convert to Islam...you are the foreigners here," is close to resolution, with what is believed to be her imminent forced resignation.
The email was sent by Ismaili to Jos Parbleu, who reported the incident to Holland's Algemeen Dagblad newspaper stating that he was "shocked" by the response. Parbleu, expressing a growing sentiment among the country's native born, added that the rise of Islamic militancy as evidenced by Ismaili's threatening email was, "a sign of what a disastrous situation has hit the country."
Ismaili has defended herself saying that she wrote the comments "in a surge of anger" after hearing someone yell anti-Moroccan comments during the day.
January 24, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Nationally syndicated talk show host Dr. Michael Savage recently interviewed William Mayer, the Editor & Publisher of PipeLinenews.org, regarding the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR], recently named as an unidicted co-conspirator in the nations largest terror prosectution.
Savage has brought suit against the organization, charging them with among other things, copyright infringement and extortion - the latter under the organized crime statutes know collectively as the RICO laws - because of CAIR's effort to silence the vocal critic of radical Islam.
Other key allegations in Dr. Savage's lawsuit include:
"CAIR is not a civil rights organization and it never has been. CAIR was and is a political organization that advocates a specific political agenda on behalf of foreign interests.
The copyright infringement was done to raise funds for CAIR so that it could perpetuate and continue to perform its role in the RICO conspiracy set forth in Count Two and to disseminate propaganda on behalf of foreign interests that are opposed to the continued existence of the United States of America as a free nation.
CAIR was tied to terror from the day it was formed. The group was incorporated on or about 1994 by Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad. Both men were officers of a terror organization known as the 'Islamic Association of Palestine.
CAIR's parent group, IAP, was founded in or about 1982 by Musa Abu Marzook. Marzook was IAP's ideological leader and controlling director from the date of its founding until shortly after his deportation from the United States in 1997. At all time relevant, Marzook was an operative of, and/or affiliated with, the 'Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah,' or 'Hamas.' Hamas is an international terrorist organization.
January 22, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Dutch MP Geert Wilders' rumored "anti-Quran" film has set off a wave of hand-wringing and hysteria in Holland.
The announcement by the head of the Freedom Party that he planned to make a film showing that the Quran is "an inspiration for intolerance, murder and terror," has sent Dutch government and security officials scurrying to design contingency plans in the event riots break out upon the release of the film.

Theo Vught, jury chairman of Holland's highest marketing prize stated that "[Wilders] has time and time again created momentum for his story. Whether film comes out or not, everyone is talking about it."

The plan allegedly details evacuation procedures and instructions to Dutch living outside Holland to be alert for the first signs of trouble. January 19, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The San Francisco Bay Area pro-life community turned out in a massive way today for this, the fourth annual, "Walk For Life." Each year since its inception, this event has grown larger, more organized and more confident. Today's crowd was estimated to be in excess of 25,000, an astounding turnout especially given the venue, San Francisco, arguably the most liberal city in America , sometimes referred to as the, "Belly of the Beast" of the pro-abortion movement.
Relocated this year to an expanded area adjacent to Justin Herman Plaza, the venue overflowed with a colorful, multi-ethnic mixture of good-will, leavened with a not insignificant spirit of resolve and determination.
Faith communities up and down the West coast were represented, at what has come to be a much anticipated day of bearing public witness to the sanctity of life.
Recitation of the rosary filled the air and the refrains of "Hail Mary" and "Glory be to the Father" were everywhere.
There were few signs of counter protest today; those few who did turn out were largely self- identified, hard core leftists whose presence was so anachronistic as to be more amusing than threatening.
Totally gone from the march were the few, but nasty displays of public indecency and mindless civil disobedience that had sporadically plagued previous outings. Perhaps the pro-abortion crowed has finally gotten the message that they have lost this argument, with today's poor turnout a tacit admission that the pro-life movement is in ascendance and on the road to victory.

January 18, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The incipient release of Dutch politician Geert Wilders' film on the Quran is causing a "severe crisis" according to the country's Prime Mininister, Jan Peter Balkenende.
During his Friday press conference he stated, "There have been more crisis in the past, but this is really a strong one," adding that the international attention the film has received, "makes the situation more complicated" according to Balkenende who hastened to add that, "there is no reason for panic."
Balkenende's statement indicated that the Dutch cabinet would "resist" attempts to use the film to "needlessly" hurt "belief...or ethnic" groups, "the cabinet we will resist that always."
January 18, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - The Council On American Islamic Relations [CAIR] the Saudi funded unindicted co-conspirator in the largest federal terror prosecution in history is claiming - sans evidence, via its ubiquitous newsletter - that GOP presidential candidates are, "falling over each other to demonize Muslims and Islam. They're trying to appeal to the power of prejudice and hate."
Such charges are an integral part in the stealth jihad being waged by Islamist groups including CAIR intended to cast legitimate critics of radical Islam as Islamophobes and bigots.
One component of that strategy is the groundless contention that there are seven million American Muslims, "the seven-million-strong American Muslim community," a figure which has been thoroughly debunked and proven to be a fabrication. The best estimate that we have of the number of American Muslims is 1.5-1.9 million, making disciples of Islam in the United States an inconsequential minority from an electoral perspective.

The video includes threats and the sounds of machine gun fire as pictures of the burning World Trade Center are shown. Accompanying the video is a written text:
"Look at this Suzanne, due to your comments something similiar can occur in your country - you will be responsible for it."
January 15, 2007 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Susanne Winter, the top candidate for the FPO's [Austrian Freedom Party] city council election in the city of Graz, is facing up to two years in jail for referring to Mohammed as a, "child molester" and a "field marshal" who had written the Quran "during epileptic fits."
She also characterized Islam as, "a totalitarian system of domination that should be thrown back to its birthplace on the other side of the Mediterranean." The president of the Austrian Muslim community, Anas Shakfeh, warned that there is a very "wrathful mood" among Muslims and stated that violence could not be ruled out. The political witch-hunt being engaged in by the Austrian government against Susanne Winters is part of a widening campaign in European countries to silence right wing politicians who are vocal critics of the Islamization of Europe.
In Holland, Geert Wilders, head of the Freedom Party lives under constant guard due to threats on his life made by radical Islamists and he is facing government harassment and scrutiny by public prosecutors intent on taking legal action to stop him from airing a film that he produced which is critical of Islam.
January 14, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - One of the key disclosures so far to come from evidence presented by the government in the ongoing Holy Land Foundation prosecution is the existence of a 1991 secret plan drawn up by the terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood [see On the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America] designed to facilitate stealth jihad - a "Civilization-Jihadist-Process" in their own words - against the West, with the goal of supplanting the secular rule of law with Sharia.
This plan was not new even in 1991, referring as it did to a similar set of recommendations put together in 1987 by the same group.
At the end of the above referenced document the Brotherhood identifies some of its key partners in furthering the goals set forth in the plan, one of those organizations [itemized as #22] is the Islamic Association for Palestine, the IAP.
As will be shown below, this is a critical piece of information, useful as a starting point in evaluating the U.S. Catholic Church's interfaith outreach to Islam - specifically the program conducted by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops [USCCB] - which in our estimation has gone seriously awry and inching towards gross negligence.
As a matter of background, the USCCB is an assembly of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church of the United States designed to help direct pastoral matters in the American Catholic Church. In 1964, Pope Paul VI created a department in the Roman Curia for outreach to people of other religions and in 1988 the effort was re-launched under the title, Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue [PCID] The PCID however is not responsible for dialogue with disciples of Judaism as duty falls under the jurisdiction of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity.
Courtesy of the omnipresent CAIR email newsletter, it came to our attention at the beginning of last August that an "interfaith" meeting was planned between the USCCB and the Council on American Islamic Relations [CAIR], to be held on the 21st of that month.
That meeting took place as planned and was attended by a representative of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Director of the Islamic Society of Orange County. The location of the meeting was the Council on American Islamic Relations' [CAIR] Capitol Hill Headquarters, 453 New Jersey Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C.
Concerned that the meeting might well be seen as bestowing the "official seal of approval" of the USCCB on the controversial group, we entered into a dialogue with a highly placed functionary in that body.
January 14, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Move America Forward [MAF], America's largest grassroots pro-troop organization today released its analysis of an article appearing in yesterday's New York Times, "Across America, Deadly Echoes of Foreign Battles," which darkly suggests that returning vets are engaging in an unprecedented, nationwide spree of murder and mayhem.
The group charges the influential liberal newspaper with, "demonstrably erroneous and false reporting," especially the author's shameful conclusion, that "Taken together, they paint the patchwork of a quiet phenomenon, tracing a cross-country trail of death and heartbreak."
As detailed by MAF chairman Melanie Morgan, "It took seven New York Times researchers to find 121 cases in which veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan committed a killing in the United States, or were charged with one, upon returning home to this country," yet this level of investigation only turned up 121 possible instances of murder in a returning population of veterans numbering over 1.5 million.
A simple running of the figures results in an overall worst case murder rate for veterans, over the 6 years of the conflict, of just 1.34 incidents per 100,000.
Given that the U.S. murder rate in the last year for which data is available [2006] is 5.7% per 100,000, the Times' article actually proves that military service instills a sense of adherence to the rule of law and a general rejection of violence as a method of settling problems, that is far beyond that of the general populace. January 13, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - On Friday the U.S. Department of Defense, Central Command [CENTCOM] confirmed that an upcoming event featuring a speech by CAIR-Tampa Executive Director Ahmed Bedier, had been cancelled or, as CENTCOM put it, "postponed."
No future date is planned.
The event had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 15th. A CENTCOM representative declined to state the reason for the "postponement."
The decision to cancel Bedier's appearance occurred after a phone conversation on Thursday between Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate [AAH], and a CENTCOM official, who said that he would bring the matter up for discussion.
AAH had discovered that Bedier was speaking at the government agency from a posting on the website of radio talk show host Michael Savage. According to that lead, Bedier was going to address the nation's central military command about such controversial topics as jihad, martyrdom and dhimmitude [serving as a non-Muslim under Muslim rule], followed by a "question and answer session."
January 7, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - According to news accounts, Temple University has rejected a suspicious offer of $1.5 million by a Saudi tied, Islamist organization called the International Institute of Islamic Thought [IIIT], to endow a chair in Islamic studies headed by current Temple religion professor Mahmoud Mustafa Ayoub. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer:
"Last spring, an Islamic group came to Temple University with an extremely generous offer: $1.5 million for an endowed chair in Islamic studies to honor religion professor Mahmoud Ayoub. After months of talks the deal fell apart when trustees and others raised concerns about the donor, the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), a nonprofit research organization that was included in a government probe into funding of suspected terrorists...IIIT was eager to work with the school because of its association with Ayoub and former professor Ismail Al-Faruqi...a cofounder of IIIT. January 5, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Ok, so once again it falls on my shoulders to explain all of this to you. There is no reason to worry they're sufficiently wide and manly enough to handle the load.
First the key point about Iowa - Hillary was shellacked, crushed, ground up like Saddam used to do to his enemies before feeding the remains to his Dobermans. She has gone from inevitable to pitiable; of course it couldn't happen to a nicer person.
What does Iowa mean?
Not much really, it's a matter of perceptions but when you have no substance, getting pantsed in public amounts to more than simple goose bumps on Hillary's prodigious gams, but more about that later?

In 1993 he formed the "Universal Companies" specializing in urban revitalization projects. Both UMM and UC's mission statements are virtually identical.
Recently the United Muslim Masjid which Gamble founded and built "hosted" a conference call from Jamil Al Amin, the former H. Rap Brown, now serving a life sentence for murdering a police officer:
