US v Hamid & Umer Hayat - Update

June 22, 2005 - Sacramento, CA - PipeLineNews - On Wednesday June 21st, Umer and Hamid Hayat were arraigned before Magistrate Judge Peter Nowinsky and plead not guilty to terror related charges.

The charges stem from a June 16th Federal indictment in which Hamid Hayat was charged with lying to the FBI regarding his attendance at a Pakistani jihadist training camp, and Umer - his father - was charged with lying about his knowledge of Pakistani terrorist training camps.

The next scheduled court date in this case will be Friday June 24th at 2pm. At that time a discovery hearing will be held before Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. and the government will start to lay out the dimensions of its case against the Hayats.

According to established court procedures, the defense has 10 days from the date of the arraignment to be made fully aware of what the prosecution intends to prove and this hearing starts that process.

Justice Dept. Spokeswoman Patty Pontello declined to comment as to whether or not the Pakistani government was cooperating with the investigation.

RNC On Dem's "Ohio Report"

June 22, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - ``The report is pure political fiction. The undisputed facts in Ohio are: Democrat officials had to be stopped by the courts from misleading voters about the day of the election; a Democrat affiliated group paid a worker in crack cocaine to submit fraudulent voter forms; and Democrat allies attempted to disenfranchise Ohio voters by submitting registration cards for Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and Michael Jordan. Republicans will continue to register and inspire new voters, make it easier for everyone to vote at the polls and protect everyone's franchise from being cancelled out by illegal or fraudulent registration.''

Senator Joseph Biden - Consistently Wrong On Iraq

June 22, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - The following is a statement by RNC Press Secretary on Senator Biden's attack on the progress in Iraq:

``Senator Biden's gloomy view of the significant progress made in Iraq should earn him the title of Pessimist in Chief. While his pessimism is nothing new, it ignores that facts. Freedom is on the march in Iraq and Biden's flawed rhetoric is nothing more than political pandering in an effort to grab headlines.'' -- RNC Press Secretary Tracey Schmitt

Sen. Biden's Pessimistic Predictions On The Iraqi Elections:

Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.): ``The Elections Are Going To Be Much Messier. We Are Left With A Bad Choice In Holding Elections And A Worse Choice Of Not Holding It.'' (CNN's ``Late Edition,'' 1/9/05)

Biden: ``And I Think There's Going To Be The Whole Question Of Whether Or Not The Sunnis Participate, Whether There's Any Legitimacy In The Process If They Don't, Et Cetera.'' (CNN's ``Late Edition,'' 1/9/05)

Bashar al-Assad's Lebanon Gamble

Middle East Quarterly - by William Harris

June 21, 2005 - MEQ - After almost three decades of occupation, Syrian troops exited Lebanon in April 2005. International pressure for Syrian withdrawal resulted from a cascading series of Syrian miscalculations. Syrian president Bashar al-Assad's August 2004 decision to force an extended term for Lebanon's sitting president galvanized the opposition. Misreading the international atmosphere paved the way for escalating diplomatic sanctions. The February 14, 2005 assassination of former prime minister Rafik al-Hariri caused anti-Syrian sentiment to boil over.

The decision will have as profound an impact upon Syria as Lebanon. Command of Lebanon has long been fundamental to Syrian regional prestige and the Syrian regime's internal staying power. For Bashar al-Assad, the loss of command in Beirut may mark a psychological tipping point toward overall erosion of his authority.

A Regime Dependent on Occupation?

Syrian troops moved into Lebanon in 1976, a year after the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war. The George H.W. Bush administration tacitly permitted Syria to "stabilize" its western neighbor by maintaining troops there regardless of redeployment commitments made in the 1989 Ta?if agreement.[1] For years after, up to 30,000 Syrian soldiers remained in Lebanon although this number later declined as Damascus became more confident of its intelligence and security penetration of Lebanon.

120 Democrats Join Ranks With Move-On.org And George Soros Signing Conyers Memorandum While He Holds Phony Impeachment Hearings

June 21, 2005 - PipeLineNews - Despite ongoing military action overseas, 3,000 dead at Ground Zero and an increasing number of terror related prosecutions taking place here at home, it seems that the response by the majority of the Democrat party - those whose names appear below - is to give aid and comfort to the enemy.

A Delusional John Conyers Moves To Impeach The President

By Dana Milbank

June 20, 2005 - Washington Post - In the Capitol basement yesterday, long-suffering House Democrats took a trip to the land of make-believe.

They pretended a small conference room was the Judiciary Committee hearing room, draping white linens over folding tables to make them look like witness tables and bringing in cardboard name tags and extra flags to make the whole thing look official.

Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) banged a large wooden gavel and got the other lawmakers to call him "Mr. Chairman." He liked that so much that he started calling himself "the chairman" and spouted other chairmanly phrases, such as "unanimous consent" and "without objection so ordered." The dress-up game looked realistic enough on C-SPAN, so two dozen more Democrats came downstairs to play along.

Combined GOP Congressional Leadership Suggest Pelosi/Durbin Unpatriotic Remarks Demoralize War Effort, Give Aid And Comfort To Enemy

June 20, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today called on House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi to apologize for her comments late last week calling the liberation of 25 million Iraqis a ``grotesque mistake'' and saying America's investment in Operation Iraqi Freedom has been ``without success.''

``Mrs. Pelosi, just like Senator Durbin, is trying to score political points at the expense of our troops, and she owes our military and their families an apology for her reckless comments.'' DeLay said. ``The Pelosi-Durbin Democrats may think comparing our troops to Soviet and Nazi secret police is good politics, but it has no place in the leadership of one of America's two parties.''

DeLay added that Mrs. Pelosi's comments, coming on the heels of U.S. Senator Richard Durbin's (D-Ill.) remarks comparing American prison camps to Soviet Gulags and Nazi concentration camps, further undermines the credibility of her party in the war on terror.

Eleanor Clift, Iraq - "Worse Than Vietnam" - MSM Avoids Turban Durbin Pol Pot Analogy

June 20, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - America's largest organization detailing liberal bias in the media, the Media Research Center reveals that Newsweek's Eleanor Clift argued on the McLaughlin Group over the weekend that Iraq is now "worse than Vietman because Vietnam was a tiny country with no strategic importance and we could declare victory and leave. Iraq is at the nexus of terrorism and oil and it's a war that we don't know how to win and can't afford to lose."

Predicting President Bush's "stay the course" rhetoric, she even compared President Bush's situation to Lyndon Johnson's plight during Vietnam: "The phraseology is going to be very reminiscent of the Vietnam era and the credibility gap that Lyndon Johnson experience because what people see on their television screens and hear from the commanders on the the ground is at enormous variance with the happy talk out of the White House."

Even Terrorists Get The Blues

By Ron Marr

June 21, 2005 - PipeLineNews - I have sort of a litmus test for political issues. If Jimmy Carter is against it, chances are I should be for it. Because Carter is always wrong, he is never wrong. The man is the idiot savant of backwards land. When Peanut Boy bares his tiny little fangs and castigates an idea, you can rest assured it's because the idea holds firm principles, will produce results and is designed to enhance the goals of America.

Thus, when Jimmy called for the closure of Guantanamo Bay's prison, I immediately realized the Gitmo interrogations were delivering intelligence integral to the battle against terrorism. That he was joining Amnesty International and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin in the assertion only confirmed my supposition that Gitmo is proving an extraordinarily effective tool.

Soros To The Rescue?

June 20, 2005 - New York Sun Editorial - George Soros, according to the Washington Post, called defeating President Bush "the central focus of my life" and a "matter of life and death." According to the Post, he has said, "America, under Bush, is a danger to the world" and believes a "supremist ideology" guides the White House. He has likened Mr. Bush's views to the Germans in World War II, according to the same Post story, and he spent millions trying to defeat Mr. Bush in the latest election. So what does one figure the Republican leadership in the Congress is going to make of the fact that the no. 2 officer at the United Nations, Mark Malloch Brown, whose current annual net salary as an undersecretary general is $125,000 a year, has emerged as the tenant in a house that Mr. Soros owns and that rents for $120,000 a year?

This insight into the cozy arrangement between Kofi Annan's camarilla and Mr. Bush's angriest political enemy was provided by our Benny Avni in his dispatch on Friday. He reports that both sides say the house, cheek by jowl with Mr. Soros's own residence, is being rented at market rate. He quotes a spokesman for the United Nations Development Program as saying that Mr. Malloch Brown is covering the rent from his savings. He notes that Messrs. Soros and Malloch Brown are good friends. Both the Soros camp and Mr. Malloch Brown's defenders insisted to our Mr. Avni that the living arrangement was set up as a "commercial transaction," rather than a gift.

In A 5-4 Decision, The SCOTUS Overturns Another Death Sentence

By David Stout

June 20, 2005 - Washington, DC - New York Times - The Supreme Court today overturned the death sentence imposed on a Pennsylvania murderer, ruling that his lawyers had not done enough to gather information that might have persuaded jurors to spare his life.

The 5-to-4 ruling, reversing a decision of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, directs the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to grant the defendant, Ronald Rompilla, a new trial on what his punishment should be or resentence him to life in prison.

Mr. Rompilla, now 56, was convicted of robbing a tavern owner in Allentown on Jan. 14, 1988, stabbing him to death, then setting the body on fire. The victim, James Scanlon, was set upon while he was closing the bar for the evening. The police soon arrested Mr. Rompilla, who had been drinking in the bar all evening and whose sneakers bore the victim's blood.

Global Warming is More Scare than Science

By - Alan Caruba

June 20, 2005 - National Anxiety Center - On June 13, USA Today declared that "The debate's over: Globe is Warming." That's another headline you can ignore. The world has been warming ever since the last Ice Age, but it is not rapidly warming in ways that threaten our existence, nor warming in a way that requires the industrialized nations to drastically cut back on their use of energy to avoid the many scenarios of catastrophe the Greens have been peddling since the 1980's.

Global warming is a classic scare campaign initiated by the Greens after a previous effort in the 1970s to influence public policy by declaring a coming Ice Age failed to generate any response. What we are seeing now is yet another worldwide coordinated campaign by the Greens to rescue the global warming theory from the junk heap to which it should be consigned.

Advice for President Bush on choosing new justice: Put a genuine pro-lifer on the U.S. Supreme Court

June 20, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews "It is an understatement to say that filling a vacancy on the United States Supreme Court will enable President Bush to make a long-lasting impact on this nation's judicial system," said American Life League president Judie Brown. "That is why it is crucial that any potential candidate be examined very carefully to see not only where that candidate personally stands on abortion, but how that person would treat abortion as a member of the country's highest court."

Names of a number of potential candidates are being floated in Washington, in anticipation of Chief Justice William Rehnquist's retirement. "During previous questioning, a number of these jurists have said that they're personally opposed to abortion, but that they would not rule against it as members of federal circuit or appeals courts," said Brown. "One would not want to see such compartmentalization of the evil of abortion in the mind of a Supreme Court justice."

Lodi, California Series Part I - Why Pakistan?

June 16, 2005 - Lodi, CA - PipeLineNews - Although Osama bin-Laden formed al-Qaeda in 1988 during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, possibly of more immediate concern with regard to understanding the events as they unfold in Lodi is The International Islamic Front for Holy War Against Jews and Crusaders [IIF] which bin-Laden founded in February of 1998 as a world-wide confederation of terror groups.

The IIF immediately issued the following fatwa against the United States, the now infamous declaration of war:

"The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies, civilians, and the military, is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate al-Aqsa Mosque and the Holy Mosque from their grip and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated, and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty God, and 'fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together,' and 'fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God."

In Pakistan, five groups have been associated with the IIF:

Point Of Order, Senator Durbin

June 16, 2005 - PipeLineNews - "...what Americans had done to prisoners in their control...this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime - Pol Pot or others - that had no concern for human beings...This administration should apologize to the American people for abandoning the Geneva Conventions and authorizing torture techniques that put our troops at risk and make Americans less secure"

No, Senator, you were given an opportunity to apologize to the American people for your traitorous statements which only serve to further inflame the enemy and yet you have refused to do so. Your office even goes so far as to claim that the White House shares your observations.

Senator, while you were posturing like Joseph Goebbels on the Senate floor al-Jazeera was already streaming your bile world-wide where it is now being used as pretext for further attacks on American servicemen overseas and jihad here at home.

Gitmo Cocktail

By Ralph Peters

June 16, 2005 - PipeLineNews via the New York Post - The demands to shut down our Guantanamo lock-up for terrorists have nothing to do with human rights. They're about punishing America for our power and success.

From our ailing domestic left to overseas America haters, no one really cares about the fate of Mustapha the Murderer or Ahmed the Assassin. The lies told about Gitmo are meant to undercut U.S. foreign policy and embarrass America.

The Gitmo controversy is about many things, from jealousy of the United States and outrage that we refuse to fail, to residual anger that we won the Cold War and exploded the left's great fantasy of a dictatorship of the intellectuals. But the one thing the protests aren't about is human rights.

Except, of course, as a means to slam the United States.

Torture? Who and when? Koran abuse? I'd rather be a Koran in Gitmo than a Bible in Saudi Arabia. Illegal detentions? Suggest a better way to handle hardcore terrorists. Maltreatment? Spare me. The food the prisoners receive is better than what I had to eat in the Army.

Egyptian Writer On Islamist Education - "Separates the Muslim's Mind from the Real World, Making Him Lose the Capacity to Distinguish Good from Evil"

June 14, 2005 - PipeLineNews - via MEMRI - "This suicide bomber was not a lone drop-out from society. He was certainly part of a cell... Nonetheless, it is now possible that an isolated individual can carry out a bombing, as indeed occurred when an [Egyptian] citizen stabbed a tourist who was kissing his [own] wife one week prior to the recent explosion. It is taught in the schools, on television, in the mosques, and within the family that this secene [of a husband kissing his wife], which touches the hearts of people all over the world, and makes them overflow with feelings and humanity, is ugly, promiscuous, and immodest. Thus, the terrorist act of that citizen was merely a result of what we planted in him. He was unable to resist the generator of hate and repugnance within him, so he stabbed the couple with a switchblade...

"The generator of hatred, revulsion, and cruelty is like a generator of energy; it explodes if internal pressure rises. That is what happens to the poor Muslim when he is exposed to the enormous pressure of the religious people in our country, which is far greater than that to which people of other religions in the world are exposed. While for the Christian it is enough to make the sign of the cross, which only takes one second, the Muslim is required to be a mechanical instrument, performing the same action every day. He is required to go to the mosque five times a day, and is required to constantly read the Koran, and to force himself to weep if he cannot weep, and to spend an entire work day in the mosque. No one can make him work so long as he is reading the Koran and reciting endless supplications and devotions. [Such recitations] accompany his every motion and position, from the moment he gets up at dawn to the moment he retires to the conjugal bed...

Pew Adds New Spin To Illegal Immigrant Controversy, Calling Them "Unauthorized Migrants"

June 14, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - According to a new multicultural friendly and scientifically questionable "survey" the Pew Hispanic Center has released information that flies in the face of traditional research on the illegal Mexican invasion.

"Contrary to the stereotype of undocumented migrants as single males with very little education who perform manual labor in agriculture or construction, a new Pew Hispanic Center report shows that most of the unauthorized population lives in families, a quarter has at least some college education and that illegal workers can be found in many sectors of the US economy." - Pew Hispanic Center Conclusion

So as you view the hordes of young, single and apparently illiterate illegal Mexicans seeking day-work outside your home center today please correct your thoughts to the new reality and remember that many of them are probably just doctors and university professors simply looking for good healthy outdoor work.

New Study Decries Abortionist Junk Science And Proves That Abstinence Programs Are The Healthiest Choice

June 14, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - ``Once again, the abstinence education, wanted by parents everywhere, is proven healthy and effective,'' commented Leslee Unruh, president of the Abstinence Clearinghouse, about a report exposing a previous paper as ``junk science.''

A new report released today at the Welfare Research and Evaluation Conference hosted by HHS, corrects previously published findings by Peter Bearman and Hannah Bruckner, of Columbia University. The analysis of the study was conducted by Robert Rector and Dr. Kirk Johnson who stated, ``Adolescents who take virginity pledges are less likely to have sexually transmitted diseases as young adults when compared to non-pledgers from similar backgrounds. Adolescents who take virginity pledges are also less likely to engage in 'alternate sexual activity' (behavior other than vaginal intercourse). The more risky the behavior the less likely pledgers are to do it.''

Lodi, California al-Qaeda Probe

June 12, 2005 - Lodi, CA - PipeLineNews - We are posting these files as a general resource.

The original complaint is far more revelatory than the second or ammended complaint which became the base charge against Umer and Hamid Hayat.

US v Hamid Hayat, Original Complaint US v Hamid Hayat, Modified Complaint

As part of a continuing investigation which has struck this small California farming community like lightning, Hamid Hayat and his father, Umer Hayat were arrested on June 6 on terrorism related charges.

That investigation has now been expanded and a total of five individuals are in custody.

The Hayats are being held on charges that they lied federal investigators regarding the son's training at a Pakistani al-Qaeda terror camp.

Hamid Hayat, after failing a lie detector test, admitted that he had just returned from the camp where he had spent six months engaged in small arms and explosives training as well as hand-to-hand-combat instruction.

Two Imams [Mohammed Adil Khan and Shabbir Ahmed] from the Lodi Mosque, were also detained by Immigration and Customs agents on immigration violations. Late Wedsnesday, Khan's son, Mohammed Hassan Adil was also taken into custody.

In a Tuesday press conference, Muslim spokesman Taj Kahn claimed that the Khan and Ahmed were being unfairly singled out - "They have not violated any of the laws. They have not done anything wrong to give us any suspicions."

Camelot As Viewed Through The Lens Of Watergate

By William A. Mayer, E & P - PipeLineNews

June 8, 2005 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews - There can be no doubt that the media is in the throes of self-congratulatory excess as a result of Mark Felt having been mis-identified as the mythical Deep Throat. The celebration continues unabated notwithstanding the existence of evidence that might lead one to conclude that the lynchpin of the affair is fictional.

In a February 18, 2005 interview by Fox News personality Sheppard Smith, historian Eric Burns stated:

Burns: "The noted historian, who had at Simon & Schuster the same editor as Woodward and Bernstein. Stephen Ambrose told me this. There is in the safe at Simon & Schuster a copy of the first manuscript draft of All the President's Men. In it there is no Deep Throat. What does that mean? Deep Throat was a later insertion. Why? Because an editor at Simon & Schuster - Alice Mayhew - said two things to these cub reporters...First, your book has so many sources...it's...hard for the reader to keep up...your book is lacking...in narrative drive. I mean, it's like a bunch of newspaper articles...but I have...one solution to both problems. Let's tie all your sources into one source, and let's make him a mystery man."

That the press' orgiastic behavior might rest on such narrow pretense should not be surprising, because Watergate is the mantra from which springs the media's Big Juju and the fact that Mr. Felt is now non-compos-mentis should strike any skeptical journalist as a bit too convenient.

The focus we find of interest here is how it demonstrates the media's double standard on such matters.

Actually double standard is a bit tame since the New York Times has been in the forefront of pushing the envelope of what constitutes freedom of the press to the point that, as demonstrated in the 1964 SCOTUS case NY Times v Sullivan, now the First Amendment protects newspapers against publication of even false statements about public officials unless the claimant can demonstrably prove that the publisher knew the information to be wrong and acted with malice in publishing it.

As a result, the press is essentially unconstrained in its ability to savage - selected - officials. The leftist media maintain that it is the their right and responsibility to disseminate classified information regardless of whether it might be injurious to national security as was evidenced by the New York Times' and Washington Post's June 1971 publishing of the so-called Pentagon Papers.

While they established their reputations at the expense of Richard Nixon, the actions of the Kennedy's a decade earlier escape their serious comment to this day.

Inspecting/Handling Detainee Korans

San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews - Editor's note: Much has been made of alleged desecration of the Quran by members of the US military while dealing with detainees at Guantanimo Base. Yet no main stream news organization, to our knowledge, has published the following operating procedures which the military has established regarding handling of the Quran.

We thought that the degree to which the military attempts to preserve the tender sensibilities of terrorist suspects might be of interest as this debate goes forward.

a. Clean gloves will be put on in full view of the detainees prior to handling.

b. Two hands will be used at all times when handling the Koran in manner signaling respect and reverence. Care should be used so that the right hand is the primary one used to manipulate any part of the Koran due to the cultural association with the left hand. Handle the Koran as if it were a fragile piece of delicate art.

c. Ensure that the Koran is not placed in offensive areas such as the floor, near the toilet or sink, near the feet, or dirty/wet areas.

Brady And Other Anti-Gun Arguments Are Lies, Violent Crime Plummets After End Of So-Called Assault Weapon Ban

June 8, 2005 - Bellvue, WA - PipeLineNews - Recently released data from the FBI clearly show that the dire predictions by anti-gunners last fall over the end of the so-called ``assault weapons ban'' have proven to be groundless, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) noted today.

The FBI reported that for the first time since 1999, homicides declined last year 5.4 percent in cities with more than 1 million people, and overall, murders fell 3.6 percent nationwide.

``Anti-gun hysterics have once again been proven wrong in their fear mongering,'' said SAF Founder Alan Gottlieb. ``Their forecasts of blood running in the streets were baseless, and they knew it. However, when you're in a war to crush a Constitutional right, one class of firearms at a time, truth is typically the first casualty.''

Sensenbrenner Characterizes Dean Outbursts As "Delusional"

June 8, 2005
Dr. Howard Dean Chairman
Democratic National Committee
430 S. Capitol St., SE
Washington, D.C. 20003

Dear Dr. Dean:

I was extremely disappointed to hear of your latest outrageous political assault this morning on The Today Show. You accused me by name of ``attacking immigrants'' and having ``incredible anti-immigrant legislation,'' an apparent reference to the REAL ID legislation that enjoyed strong bipartisan support in the House and Senate as well as by the Bush Administration. By implication, the 42 House Democrats who voted for the REAL ID Act and Senate Democrats like Senator Byrd who proved invaluable in moving this antiterrorism legislation through the Senate are also guilty of ``attacking immigrants.''

In recent days, your delusional outbursts have forced senior members of your own party to distance themselves from your comments. While I agree with your acknowledgment that you're ``not very dignified,'' I sincerely hope you refrain from further personal attacks. These attacks are contrary to the passionate - but respectful - political debate the public deserves...

Young Adults Meet With Governor Schwartzenegger On Abortion

June 8, 2005 - Washington, D.C. - PipeLineNews - Young adults from across the country will meet with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on June 9, at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the ongoing problem of Catholics in public office who support the act of abortion. "This is a dedicated group of individuals who want to talk to the governor about a basic Catholic teaching: You can't be both Catholic and pro-abortion," said Joe Starrs, director of American Life League's Crusade for the Defense of Our Catholic Church.

Because of his consistent support of abortion, Gov. Schwarzenegger has been included in American Life League's Deadly Dozen campaigns, which identify pro-abortion Catholics in public office and encourage them to recant their support of abortion or cease claiming Catholicism as their faith.

Tragic French Offensive Stalled On Beaches

By William A. Mayer, Editor & Publisher - PipeLineNews.org

June 6, 1944 - Normandy, France - PipeLineNews - Pandemonium, shock and sheer terror predominate today's events in Europe.

In an as yet unfolding apparent fiasco, Supreme Allied Commander, General Dwight David Eisenhower's troops got a rude awakening this morning at Omaha Beach here in Normandy.

Due to insufficient planning and lack of a workable entrance strategy, soldiers of the 1st and 29th Infantry as well as Army Rangers are now bogged down and sustaining heavy casualties inflicted on them by dug-in insurgent positions located 170 feet above on cliffs overlooking the beaches; beaches which resemble blood soaked killing fields at the time of this mid-morning filing.

Bodies, parts of bodies and blood are the order of the day here, the screams of the dying and the stillness of the dead mingle in testament to this terrible event.

SCOTUS' Griswold Decision Seen As Start Of American Cultural Decline

June 7, 2005 - Washington, D.C. - PipeLineNews - "Forty years ago today, the United States Supreme Court handed Planned Parenthood the Griswold v. Connecticut decision and opened Pandora's box by discovering a so-called 'right to privacy' in the penumbra - the shadows -- of the United States Constitution," said David Bereit, national director of American Life League's STOPP International.

"That decision has been responsible for a tragic moral breakdown in our culture, setting the stage for court decisions that decriminalized abortion, and opened the door for children to engage in sexual activity without their parents' knowledge and with the help of Planned Parenthood's products."

The Worst

By Hal Castle

The sea was not all bad.

Over it were borne the things that made life bearable - food and drink and fuels and oils for the engines of Man. From it could be plucked delicacies to supplement a boring diet or traded for other things to eat, with other Men.

The sea carried warmth on its currents. Warmth picked up thousands of leagues away and stored deeply, to be released in climes that need warmth to be even remotely hospitable to Man.

The sea swept in, on its broad shoulders, treasures from other lands. Treasures eagerly collected and cleaned and hoarded. Treasures with strange glyphs and markings and odd devices of man attached. Sometimes the sweepings were not treasures at all, but objects to ponder over, their history undecipherable.

Mars Rover Escapes From Sandtrap, Resumes Exploration

June 6, 2005 - Washinton, DC - PipeLineNews - NASA's Mars Exploration Rover mission engineers and managers cheered when images from the Martian surface confirmed Opportunity successfully escaped from a sand trap.

From about 108 million miles away, the rover team at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena, Calif., had worked diligently for nearly five weeks to extricate the rover. The long-distance roadside assistance was a painstaking operation to free the six wheeled rover, which was mired in the soft sand of a small Martian dune.

"After a nerve wracking month of hard work, the rover team is both elated and relieved to finally see our wheels sitting on top of the sand instead of half buried in it," said Jeffrey Biesiadecki, a JPL rover mobility engineer.

GOP Set Sites On Hillary In NY

June 6, 2005 - Albany, NY - PipeLineNews- The Ed Cox for Senate Exploratory Committee has announced the naming of its pollster and counsel, Fred Steeper.

Nationally recognized polling and electoral research expert Fred Steeper has signed on to aid the newly formed committee. Steeper is a founder and principal of Market Strategies Inc. and has more than thirty years experience in electoral analysis. He most recently conducted battleground polls for Bush-Cheney '04 including those in the critical state of Ohio.

``We are building a strong team and I am delighted that Fred will be lending his extensive expertise to the effort,'' stated Mr. Cox, who is seriously considering a run to capture the Senate seat currently held by Hillary Rodham Clinton. ``Fred's work has been invaluable thus far and his sound advice will ensure that we can develop a winning strategy,'' he added.

Islamists Are Intrinsically Anti-Democratic

By Michael Rubin

June 6, 2005 - Washington, DC - Middle East Forum - President George W. Bush has placed democratization at the center of his Middle East policy. At his inauguration he declared, "Democratic reformers facing repression, prison, or exile can know: America sees you for who you are: the future leaders of your free country." Bush is sincere, confronting not only adversaries like Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but also pro-American dictators like Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Bush can claim success: 2005 is the year of the election. Iraqis defied predictions to cast their ballots. Palestinians also embraced the vote, electing Mahmoud Abbas to replace the late Yasser Arafat.

Elections alone do not make democracy, though. Washington should be cynical about Mubarak's commitment to democracy. Even though 83 percent of his electorate voted for multiparty elections in a May 25, 2005 referendum, his government still determines who can run. In October 2004, Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali won 94.5 percent of the vote after curtailing his opponents' campaign. The Saudi kingdom has trumpeted its municipal elections, but the resulting councils have had neither budgetary nor legislative authority.

Turkish Press & Anti-Semitic Content

June 6, 2005 - Washington, DC - Middle East Media Research Institute - Columnist Fahri Guven wrote in the Islamist daily Milli Gazete: [4] "The Ottomans saved the Jews from the hands of Christians, who murdered them along with the Muslims in Endulus [Muslim Spain]. When Russia and Hungary persecuted the Jews, again the Ottomans saved them. The Muslim Turks rescued Jews yet again, from the hands of Hitler, who was himself a hidden Jew. From the beginning, the Ottomans showed hospitality, seemingly even by allotting the best homes to the Jews - along the Bosphorus, in Istanbul's most luxurious area.

"And, characteristic of their savage, treacherous [nature], in return they [the Jews] first overthrew Sultan Abdulhamid and destroyed the Ottomans; [5] [then], like insects, they ate away at the Ottoman [Empire]; and as if this were not enough, they stabbed the Muslim Turkish soldiers in Palestine in the back.

"'Judaism' is synonymous with 'treason.' They [the Jews] even betrayed God. When God told them to bow their heads while entering Al-Quds [Jerusalem], they entered with their heads up. The prophets sent to them, such as Zachariah and Isaiah, were murdered by the Jews. In fact, no amount of pages or lines would be sufficient to explain the Koranic chapters and our Lord Prophet's [Muhammad's] words that tell us of the betrayals of the Jews."

Columnist for the ultra-nationalist daily Ortadogu Selcuk Duzgun, in an article titled "Here is the Real Jew," wrote: [6] "Salamon [a Jewish name often used in a derogatory way] is on his deathbed. He asks his wife about each member of his family and wants to know if they are present. When the wife assures him that all his loved ones are beside him, he is angered and shouts at them for leaving the shop unattended.

"This is a clear example of what the real Jew is. While we read and laugh at our jokes about the Jews, they [the Jews] are enjoying themselves by fooling the entire world.

George Soros Funded Group Conducts Misinformation Campaign Against GOP House Members

June 2, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Over the last two years George Soros and associates have contributed $6.2 million dollars to Berkeley's rich kid, leftist/anarchist political toy - Move-On.org.

The group's stock-in-trade is the conduct of incredibly expensive - but failed - campaigns of deceit and lies against conservative political candidates and a strong American foreign policy. Their election year rage culminated in the infamous "Bush is Hitler" advertising campaign [a frame of which is displayed to the left] - which they then unsuccessfully sought to deny.

Never backing down from antagonistic statements, on December 9, 2004 the group made the following claim in a fundraising email:

"In the last year, grassroots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the Party doesn't need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it's our Party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back." - "Eli Pariser, Justin Ruben, and the whole MoveOn PAC team."

Now - in the Soros funded group's latest sortie - it turns its guns against allegedly "vulnerable" GOP House members [Marilyn Musgrave - CO, Rep. Heather Wilson - NM, Mike Sodrel - IN, Rob Simmons - CT, Chris Chocola - IN, Dave Reichart - WA & Melissa Hart - PA] in an attempt to put pressure on Tom DeLay, the House Majority Leader.

The group chiding them for accepting Republican funding of a thoroughly legal nature. MoveOn DC spokesweasel, Tom Matzzie not-so-eloquently states - "Tom DeLay is a bad, bad man."

Dean's Remarks To The "Campaign For America's Future"

June 2, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Editor's note: We should encourage Howard Dean to pubicly address the issues of the day as frequently as possible, he is one of the GOP's most effective advocates.

The group that he is addressing here "The Campaign For America's Future" call themselves progressives but are in reality the MoveOn team, funded by a billionaire European drug advocate and currency speculator - George Soros.

Soros assets reside in drug infested Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles.

Curacao is a lawless, organized crime haven which has been declared on numerous occasions by the International Task Force on Money Laundering of the OECD to be the world's most important center for laundering drug cartel money.

Curacao is not only tax free but by using this offshore ploy Soros, the daddy warbucks of the Dean Democrat/MoveOn bund, not only avoids paying taxes but also can shield the identity of his "investors" and how his corporation spends its money.

So as you read through this screed by Dean remember that Soros is paying the Democrat Party's bills and that he, not Dean's "common man" is the one to whom the Democrat Party is beholden.

DEAN: Thank you. I hardly recognize myself in the introduction. Thank you very much. I appreciate it very much. We are bringing Tom DeLay out here to campaign...I better not go there, this is on C-SPAN, after all...

District Court Decision Might Prove Key In Uncovering Union Corruption

June 2, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Carl F. Horowitz, director of the Organized Labor Accountability Project of the National Legal and Policy Center made the following observations regarding an important labor law ruling:

A U.S. Appeals Court on May 31 served notice to the nation's labor unions that full financial disclosure is not an option, but a necessity.

In a 3-0 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit, upheld a new set of regulations issued by the Department of Labor that required unions to spell out in greater detail how they spend their money. The court, in effect, rejected the claim by the AFL-CIO that Labor Secretary Elaine Chao had exceeded her authority in establishing the new rules. The court emphasized that the rules had been based on sound law and economics. When union members pay dues, the court said, they should get a clear idea of where all that money is going.

Multiculturalism And The Phenomenon Of Forced Conversion To Islam

June 1, 2005 - by William A. Mayer - Editor & Publisher, PipeLineNews

Judging from frequency of notice alone, according to the Council on Islamic American Relations [CAIR] America is an intolerant place and its subjugation of Islam is a major problem.

The following, culled from just the last few of the organization's newsletters received by PipeLineNews.

Radio station drops ad from Muslim group - Prayer time for [Muslim] Somali cabbie leads to police ticketing - Muslim woman sues over refusal to allow headscarf on prison visit - Rank stupidity, the US made a huge mistake in abandoning the moral high ground to set up its outside the law Guantanimo Bay interrogation centre - NC church stands by sign saying Quran "should be flushed" - Amnesty International takes aim at Gulag in Guantanimo - CAIR anti-torture campaign - State [Muslim] employee claims he was harassed - [Muslim] group calls on FBI to investigate alleged [anti-Muslim] bias at Christian school.

Applying the standards used by CAIR, American Muslims should consider themselves lucky just to arrive home every evening, having escaped lynching by cross waving, bigoted Christian mobs.

Downsizing Illegal Immigration

By Mark Krikorian, Center For Immigration Studies

June 1, 2005 - Washington, DC - Center For Immigration Studies - PipeLineNews - Senators John McCain and Edward Kennedy recently unveiled a major bipartisan immigration proposal backed by a coalition of business, labor, and ethnic organizations. Unfortunately, this plan, like other suggested immigration plans (including President Bush's) is based on a false premise: Since the federal government can't quickly deport the 10-12 million illegal aliens, the only alternative is legalization - i.e., amnesty.

But there is a third way that rejects this false choice, and it is the only approach that can actually work: Shrink the illegal population through consistent, across-the-board enforcement of the immigration law. By deterring the settlement of new illegals, by increasing deportations to the extent possible, and, most importantly, by increasing the number of illegals already here who give up and deport themselves, the United States can bring about an annual decrease in the illegal-alien population, rather than allowing it to continually increase. The point, in other words, is not merely to curtail illegal immigration, but rather to bring about a steady reduction in the total number of illegal immigrants who are living in the United States. The result would be a shrinking of the illegal population to a manageable nuisance, rather than today's looming crisis.

Government By Indictment

June 1, 2005 - Washington, DC - PipeLineNews vie The Institute For Legal Reform - The below study provides a critical analysis of national policymaking by state attorneys general. Increasingly, state AG investigations and prosecutions of major corporations go beyond the objective of punishing individual wrongdoing, or even of changing the conduct of corporate entities. Nowadays, many AG campaigns - which increasingly take the form of multistate actions - attempt to ?reform? the internal operations and business models of major American industries. To that end, attorneys general file indictments that are designed to exact settlements from defendants who cannot afford to bet the company. "Government by Indictment" is a fitting description of this style of law enforcement.

The adverse consequences of AG activism reach beyond "mere" economics; they affect the integrity of American political institutions at all levels. Unchecked AG activism will spell:

  • The re-regulation of major sectors of the U.S. economy;

  • The cartelization of major American industries;

  • The increased dominance of the plaintiffs? bar over American politics; and

  • Substantial wealth transfers from productive enterprises to plaintiffs? lawyers and advocacy organizations with an aggressive agenda to re-regulate the economy.
  • "There has been this tremendous redistribution of legal power away from Washington, and who better than state attorneys general to step into the void to ensure that the rule of law is enforced." - Eliot Spitzer, New York attorney general
