534 DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT CONGRESSIONAL ELECTION
NEWSWEEK - FIRE MICHAEL ISIKOFF!
Media Defends Newsweek's "Fake But Fair" Standard
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - America's largest organization detailing liberal bias in the media, the Media Research Center reveals that following the "fake but accurate" theme espoused by some to defend
CBS's use of forged memos to get President Bush, in the wake of Newsweek's
retraction late Monday of its claim that a military report would include
the charge that a guard at Guantanamo flushed a Koran down a toilet,
journalistic colleagues came to Newsweek's defense. CNN's Anderson Cooper
proposed: "Is it beyond the realm of possibility that a tactic like this
was used?" CBS and ABC passed along allegations from prisoners. Richard
Roth of CBS recalled: "Detainees released in 2003 came home claiming
American guards had routinely provoked them by sitting on the Koran, or
putting pages in a toilet." ABC's Martha Raddatz argued: "The Newsweek
article was not the first time U.S. personnel have been accused of
desecrating the Koran. Last year, this British detainee released from
Guantanamo said guards 'would kick the Koran, throw it into the toilet and
generally disrespect it.'" Later, on Monday's Nightline, John Donvan
suggested: "What really goes on at Guantanamo Bay, no one really knows."
Anchor Chris Bury asked that "given the other abuses" of prisoners by the
U.S., "does Newsweek deserve all the blame, assuming that its story was incorrect?"
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann led Monday's Countdown by snidely asking: "Why
does a book in a toilet start riots, but a war doesn't?" Turning
conspiratorial, Olbermann soon proposed that "something smells funny to me
about this Newsweek apology, then retraction" after White House Press
Secretary Scott McClellan "blasts Newsweek." Guest Craig Crawford of
Congressional Quarterly and CBS News charged that the Bush administration
may well have "set up the news media" to look foolish: "The government had
the opportunity to see this report before it was published -- and passed.
This is a pattern we've seen before, Keith. We saw it in the CBS case as
bad as the supposedly fake memorandum that Dan Rather used in the 60
Minutes report on Bush's National Guard service, as bad as that was, they
did show it to the administration ahead of time. It does make you wonder
if sometimes they set up the news media." Apparently, an easy mark.
Mechista, Antonio Villagairosa Elected With Supermajority In Los Angeles
May 17, 2005 - Los Angeles, CA - PipeLineNews - California, meet your new Mechista Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa.
In an overwhelming victory Tuesday, the former Speaker of the California Assembly became the mayor of the most populous city in the state, Los Angeles.
Mr. Villaraigosa is a "Brown Power" activist who ascribes to the program of the racist, essentially college based group known as MEChA, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán. He campaigned hard within Los Angeles' legal and illegal Mexican communities, while accepting support from the ranks of MEChA and La Raza, ["The People"] another major and extreme player in Latino politics.
Mechistas believe that the greater Southwest was part of a mythical Aztec empire called Aztlán. In the group's charter document they call for a "reconquista" of the area by "bronze skinned people."
We have written extensively about MEChA, Villagairosa, Gil Cedillo [main proponent behind granting drivers licenses to illegal aliens] and Mexican politics here in the state, in previous pieces and we refer you to one of those pieces for some background Radical Mexican Agenda Driving California Legislation
In the above image, corrupt Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo looked on as then California Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa thanked him for his help in scuttling Prop 187. The thankful Villagairosa stated "As leader of the state Assembly, I say President Zedillo had great impact in defeating Proposition 187 [he] pushed the process that eventually invalidated the law."
This Week's Sermon From The Palestinian Authority, Courtesy Of Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris
MEMRI - PipeLineNews - "Allah has tormented us with 'the people most hostile to the believers' ? the Jews. 'Thou shalt find that the people most hostile to the believers to be the Jews and the polytheists.' Allah warned His beloved Prophet Muhammad about the Jews, who had killed their prophets, forged their Torah, and sowed corruption throughout their history.
With the establishment of the state of Israel, the entire Islamic nation was lost, because Israel is a cancer spreading through the body of the Islamic nation, and because the Jews are a virus resembling AIDS, from which the entire world suffers.
You will find that the Jews were behind all the civil strife in this world. The Jews are behind the suffering of the nations.
But don't ask Germany what it did to the Jews. It was the Jews who provoked Nazism to wage war against the entire world, when the Jews, using the Zionist movement, got other countries to wage an economic war on Germany and to boycott German merchandise. They provoked Russia, Britain, France, and Italy. This enraged the Germans toward the Jews, leading to the events of those days, which the Jews commemorate today..."
Ten Points For A Successful Presidential Candidate
By Mark Krikorian, Center For Immigration Studies
Center For Immigration Studies - PipeLineNews - The next presidential election may be years away, but potential candidates are already staking out positions on issues that should figure prominently. One of these is certain to be immigration, and one likely candidate for 2008 is already working to develop a tough, pro-enforcement image.
Unfortunately, that candidate is Hillary Clinton.
Her grade of F from Americans for Better Immigration, a group lobbying for stricter immigration rules, hasn?t stopped her from dropping comments to reporters like ?I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants,? and ?People have to stop employing illegal immigrants.? Of course, the only reason Hillary thinks she has a chance of outflanking the GOP on the right is that the president?s immigration policies are terrible. It is therefore an opportune time to outline an immigration agenda for the 2008 presidential candidates. Here is a ten-point package, which includes both measures that a candidate should pledge to undertake on his own, and legislative changes that he should promote, as president.
1. Unambiguous commitment to enforcement. No candidate for chief executive can be taken seriously unless he enunciates a clear and unequivocal determination to execute the immigration law, whatever it happens to be. Presidential contenders don?t come out and say they oppose enforcement, of course, but experience shows that?s exactly what they mean when they offer the usual mealy-mouthed generalities.
Slumming It With Scott Alexander On The Jihadi Rubber Chicken Circuit
By Beila Rabinowitz, Director Militant Islam Monitor
March 17, 2005 - Osceola County, FL - PipeLineNews - Dr. Scott Alexander, Director of the Catholic-Muslim Studies Program at Chicago's Catholic
Theological Union/ Bernardin Center, has had a busy week hopping from one Islamist conference to the next.
After speaking at CAIR's [the Saudi funded Council on American Islamic Relations] recent DC "Islamophobia and anti-Americanism" conference he made his way
down to ICNA/MAS's [Islamic Circle of North America/Muslim American Society] Universal Heritage Foundation in Florida where he shared the bill with ex-ICNA
president and current UHF CEO, Zulfiqar Ali Shah.
It's a wonder that Dr. Shah has much time on his hands for public speaking since his avocation is harassing Christian
schools into near bankruptcy, a subject we have extensively covered in the past Will Of Faith about which Dr. Alexander has been advised.
Alexander's support for groups which have proven ties to Hamas and al-Qaeda under the guise of
improving Catholic Muslim relations, reveals an intent to use his position at CTU/Bernardin to promote Da'wa [Muslim
faith spreading and conversion] under the guise of serious interfaith dialogue.
Since the inception of these programs, Alexander has actively recruited Islamists into Bernardin and structured the Muslim Studies
programs around the militant sophistry of the Islamists rather than seeking to build bridges to moderates in these emotionally charged matters of faith.
George Lucas Hints That Darth Vader Is Bush - "You are either with me - or you are my enemy."
San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews - In freewheeling remarks made at the Cannes Film Festival in France, George Lucas made it clear that the newest installment of the Star Wars saga - "The Revenge of the Sith" - builds on an allegorical plot line that views Richard Nixon and George W. Bush as war mongers and as having pushed the country towards a dictatorship.
Indicating that Lucas' talents do not extend to a mastery of ancient history, he went on to claim that the aborning American dictatorship was modeled on Rome "after the death of Caesar" ignoring the fact that Caesar was an honorary title which was applied to a multiplicity of Roman emperors from Augustus to Hadrian.
Oh well.
Lucas stated that the story originated in 1971 as he reflected on the Vietnam War and Richard Nixon, apparently unaware that Nixon was the president who ended the war and that it was the Democrat tandem of JFK and LBJ who started and then poorly prosecuted the effort.
The Globe & Newsweek Lie, US Soldiers Die!
Outrage piled upon outrage and yet big media maintains that they are unbiased.
What else - aside from a jaundiced desire to crush the war on Islamic terror - would explain Newsweek Magazine publishing a bald-faced lie stating that US interrogators flushed a Quran down a toilet while at the same time the Boston Globe is giving wide airing to a another story suggeting that American soldiers routinely gang-rape Iraqi women - going so far as to provide links to Internet porno sites as proof?
There is a prarie fire smoldering in the heart of this country folks.
Old media, beware - this intentional skewing of the news is going to stop...one way or another.
The people that put George W. Bush in office are not in a pretty mood and even the increasingly small numbers who are willing to defend him have completely and absolutely lost patience with the bigoted left-wing parrots in the press who refuse to cover - the Wahhabist Islamic Threat - The Mexican Invasion - RAT Filibuster Politics As Usual, Unchecked - Forged Document Media Lies - Minority Rule - The Furthering Of The Radical Gay Agenda - Simpering Stuffed Suit Bill Frist - The Bolton Assassination - Hillary's Continued Fundraising Outrages - RINO Arrogance - Multicultural Perfidy - And The Freshly Re-Elected President [conservative troops, thank you very much now get screwed] Asleep At The Wheel.
The Newt-Hillary Danse-des-Deux
By William A. Mayer E & P, PipeLineNews.org
May 16, 2005 - PipeLineNews - One must observe Newt Gingrich's courtship of Lady Hillary with a great deal of concern tinged with no small amount of sadness.
Not the pairing itself, no matter how troubling that is in light of the Clinton's role in the destruction of Mr. Gingrich, but the nature of the potential partnership, one which need be - as speedily as possible - consigned to the deepest recesses of Hades.
Much is clear; Newt is damaged goods, the Clinton's killed him - with 125,000 negative ads.
Gingrich was the guy who stole Tiny Tim's crutch.
Why he is sidling up to these people now is pathetic, but no mystery, it's a transparent bid to return to whatever passes for legitimacy in DC these days.
Why that might appeal to someone as learned as Newt is grist for another day.
But first, let's dispense with what is a pipedream for some; Newt has as much chance of ultimately gaining the GOP nomination as I do, which is to say he has no chance whatsoever - under any conceivable condition, in any place or at any time.
Clinton Judge Runs Amok - Strikes Down Nebraska Anti-Gay Marriage Referendum That Passed With 70% Of The Vote
Family Research Council, Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - On May 12, U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon, a Clinton appointee, struck down Nebraska's constitutional provision prohibiting gay marriage or civil unions. This was the first direct action of a federal court striking down a state constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman.
Judge Bataillon decided that the Nebraska marriage amendment, passed with over 70 percent voter support, somehow denied people's rights to participate in the political process. The judge, displaying arrogance not seen since Marie Antoinette, also stated the Nebraska initiative was motivated by an "irrational fear" of and "animus" toward homosexuals. During the U.S. Senate debate on a proposed constitutional amendment last year, the prevailing argument from opposed senators was that marriage is a state issue and it should be up to individual states to decide. Ironically, both Nebraskan senators used this argument to vote against procedures advancing the federal amendment last year.
Orrin Hatch Claims Destruction Of Embryos Is A Moderate Approach
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) has joined a group of sixty so-called "centrist" Republicans in the House and Senate in endorsing a vastly increased embryonic stem cell research effort. The group cites, as rational for their stand, new polling data which seem to support increased embryonic stem cell research by the public.
Neither the company conducting the survey, the polling questions, the methodology or any additional relevant data regarding the survey is currently available from the group's website.
Global Warming "solutions" Would Devastate Poor People And Countries
By Paul Driessen, CORE Senior Policy Advisor
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Recent articles about global warming in ultra "progressive" Mother Jones magazine reflect a meltdown in fundamental principles of science, economics, ethics and democracy.
The Earth has warmed slightly since the Little Ice Age ended 150 years ago, and humans today are no doubt exerting some influence on our climate. But aside from computer-generated worst-case scenarios about temperatures, storms, melting Arctic icecaps and rising sea levels, there is little to support theories of calamitous global climate change.
Models and clamorous claims of climate catastrophe are not evidence, especially when satellite and weather balloon data show only slight atmospheric warming. So MJ writer Chris Mooney offered a new tactic.
Controversial "Free Muslims Against Terror" March On DC Nears, Amidst Skepticism
By Beila Rabinowitz, Militant Islam Monitor
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Proclaiming that "God loves Christians & Jews as much as he loves Muslims," the newly organized FMAT will hold its first rally in support of "moderate Islam" on Friday May 14.
While the group claims 70 endorsing organization, at least one, the Firfax Republicans, deny they gave permission to use their name.
MIM: A previous article by the writer of this piece asked the rhetorical question: "Free Muslims against terrorism" - An exercise in Muslim sophistry?" and pointed out that for FMAT, the root cause of terrorism is Israel, and if Israel ceased to exist, there would be no cause for Islamist terrorism - article link.
Single Male Alone...and On Fire
By Bernard Chapin
Chicago, IL - PipeLineNews - I was at a job interview last year and the administrator before me was in her late sixties and outfitted in a traditional tweed business suit. Halfway through the questions I started to get the distinct impression that she liked me. She then critiqued the habits of the person who previously held the position and dismissed her as being "such a woman." She then asked if I knew what she meant? I suspected a trap so I told her uneasily that I did not. The administrator remarked that she hated going into meetings without a man at her side.
"No conference goes smoothly without a man in your corner. Women can do a lot of things but they?re just not as effective in showdowns as men."
Didn't I think so? I gave no answer and hoped she'd move on to another subject. She did not. The question was repeated. Sheepishly I confessed that I did not know because I had always been present in the meetings I attended. I had to say something along those lines as her commentary was so politically incorrect that I doubted it to be genuine. I'll never know whether she was toying with me or not, however, as I did not hear back from that district. If she was being sincere, such women, and men for that matter, are about as rare as girls who scour the unemployment lists in the hopes of finding future husbands.
NY Times Allegedly Takes Steps To Remedy Liberal Bias
By Katharine Q. Seelye
New York, NY - The New York Times - In order to build readers' confidence, an internal committee at The New York Times has recommended taking a variety of steps, including having senior editors write more regularly about the workings of the paper, tracking errors in a systematic way and responding more assertively to the paper's critics
The committee also recommended that the paper "increase our coverage of religion in America" and "cover the country in a fuller way," with more reporting from rural areas and of a broader array of cultural and lifestyle issues.
The committee, which was charged last fall by Bill Keller, the executive editor, with examining how the paper could increase readers' trust, said there was "an immense amount that we can do to improve our journalism."
As examples, the report cited limiting anonymous sources, reducing factual errors and making a clearer distinction between news and opinion. It also said The Times should make the paper's operations and decisions more transparent to readers through methods like making transcripts of interviews available on its Web site.
Is Newt Gingrich Too Smart To Be President?
By - Alan Caruba
National Anxiety Center - Say what you will about the former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, demonized by the Democrats when Clinton was in office, the man?s intellectual powers are impressive. It was, of course, Gingrich, along with former Rep. Dick Armey, who wrote the Contract with America that put the Republican Party in control of Congress in 1994.
The Contract, which virtually all of the then-GOP candidates signed, proposed some concrete solutions to problems. With Republicans in the majority, the welfare system was reformed, balanced budgets followed, and so did the first tax cuts in memory. There were rule changes in the way Congress conducted business. In sum, it was a dramatic response to the lethargy that characterized what forty years of Democrat control had produced.
Beheading in the Name of Islam
By Timothy Furnish, Middle East Forum
Washington, DC - Images of masked terrorists standing behind Western hostages in Iraq and Saudi Arabia have become all too common on Arabic satellite stations such as Al-Jazeera and Al-Manar. Islamist websites such as Muntadiyat al-Mahdi[1] go further, streaming video of their murder.
The February 2002 decapitation of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, true to its intention, horrified the Western audience. Chechen rebels, egged on by Islamist benefactors, had adopted the practice four years earlier,[2] but the absence of widely broadcast videos limited the psychological impact of hostage decapitation. The Pearl murder and video catalyzed the resurgence of this historical Islamic practice. In Iraq, terrorists filmed the beheadings of Americans Nicholas Berg, Jack Hensley, and Eugene Armstrong. Other victims include Turks, an Egyptian, a Korean, Bulgarians, a British businessman, and a Nepalese. Scores of Iraqis, both Kurds and Arabs, have also fallen victim to Islamist terrorists' knives. The new fad in terrorist brutality has extended to Saudi Arabia where Islamist terrorists murdered American businessman Paul Johnson, whose head was later discovered in a freezer in an Al-Qaeda hideout. A variation upon this theme would be the practice of Islamists slitting the throats of those opponents they label infidels. This is what happened to Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, first gunned down and then mutilated on an Amsterdam street,[3] and to an Egyptian Coptic family in New Jersey after the father had angered Islamists with Internet chat room criticisms of Islam.[4]
The purpose of terrorism is to strike fear into the hearts of opponents in order to win political concession. As the shock value wears off and the Western world becomes immunized to any particular tactic, terrorists develop new ones in order to maximize shock and the press reaction upon which they thrive. In the 1970s and 1980s, terrorists hijacked airliners to win headlines. In the 1980s and 1990s, the car bomb became more popular; Palestinian terrorists perfected suicide bombings in the 1990s. But what once garnered days of commentary now generates only hours. Decapitation has become the latest fashion. In many ways, it sends terrorism back to the future. Unlike hijackings and car bombs, ritual beheading has a long precedent in Islamic theology and history.
Hamas vs. America
By Daniel Pipes
Washington, DC - The Bush administration's push for quick democracy in the Middle East has an increasingly clear implication: if Islamist organizations such as Hamas are to be likely electoral winners, Western powers should stop classifying them as terrorists and instead come to terms with them.
This conclusion follows from such efforts as those led by Alastair Crooke and his Conflicts Forum; the European Union's exploration of opening a dialogue with the Islamists; and an astonishing statement in which the White House spokesman referred to Hamas members as "business professionals."
Before this whitewashing of Hamas proceeds, it bears noting that the organization has not just murdered over four hundred Israelis but also prepared itself for war with America.
The ideological justification for war is in place. In 2003, Hamas declared President Bush "Islam's biggest enemy" and in 2004 it called him "the enemy of God, the enemy of Islam and Muslims." A 2004 press release announced Hamas considers the U.S as an enemy and as an accomplice to the Israeli enemy aggression against the Palestinians...The U.S will face responsibility for its position as an accomplice with Israel."
Magic At The Movies - Kingdom of Heaven
By Greg Collins, PLN Entertainment Critic
San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews - Just when I think Hollywood couldn't concoct a film much worse than "Alexander", they lower the bar even further with Ridley Scott's film about the Crusades - "Kingdom of Heaven".
Yes, it's visually nice with lots of action - but hey - if one is doing a film based in history, it might be nice to be somewhat accurate. However, "Kingdom of Heaven" is not even close on that score. Worse, it's yet another film whose apparent penchant for political correctness is on full display. The Christians in the film are nearly unanimously portrayed as raving, wild eyed, heartless, barbaric and vengeful brutes while their Islamic enemies are portrayed as calm, noble, righteous and morally superior peoples. It's precisely the kind of film Islamic terrorists like Osama bin Ladin would make if they weren't hiding in a cave somewhere.
Trial Lawyer Abuse Targeted By New Group
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - A new coalition has been formed to support the federal Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act of 2005 (LARA), H.R. 420. This common-sense legislation would help put an end to personal injury lawyers gaming the civil justice system by filing frivolous lawsuits and forum shopping. These abuses are a threat to American businesses and their employees.
The new Lawsuit Abuse Reform Coalition (LARC) includes more than 70 organizations that represent the broadest spectrum of American businesses. The membership list is available at http://www.atra.org , along with detailed information about H.R. 420 and why it is needed.
Rahma, Rahma - What's Next At Bernardin - Kama Sutra?
By William A. Mayer, E & P PipeLineNews.org
Rahma is the Arabic word for compassion, something we have very little of for Chicago's Bernardin Center, an affiliate of the ultra-liberal Catholic Theological Union.
On May 6-7 CTU's Bernardin Center will sponsor another of its interminable inter-faith dialogues featuring Islamists masquerading as moderate Muslims alongside their apostate Christian apologists. Entitled - "RAHMA: Spiritual Companionship with Muslims in a Hospital Setting," the program is supposed to highlight areas in which all faiths can work together, ministering to the ill.
We have written numerous articles about Bernardin's sham outreach programs - presided over by Dr. Scott Alexander. Alexander is a thoroughly reprehensible dhimmi* toad, who is so extreme as to have compared American Christian evangelism to the terrorist group Hamas.
Our last article about Bernardin's programs - The Catholic Theological Union And The Limits Of Understanding was published June 1, 2004. It drew considerable comment and saw wide circulation, having been reprinted in such publications as Daniel Pipes Campus Watch.
Unfortunately, Bernardin's "interfaith" programs are not aging well, they are becoming more, not less controversial.
For starters the upcoming May event is being underwritten by something called the Sophia Foundation.
The Sophia Foundation is a cult organization which advocates goddess worship...
Editor's note - *dhimmi - Dhimmitude is the Islamic system of governing populations conquered by wars of Jihad. A dhimmi is a Christian who would be content living under the yoke of an Islamist caliphate, a Muslim theocratic government.
Key House Subpoena Complied With In Investigation Of UN Oil For Food Scandal.
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Robert Parton, a former senior investigative counsel with the Independent Inquiry Committee on the United Nations Oil-for-Food Programme, was subpoenaed for documents by U.S. Rep. Henry J. Hyde (R-Ill.), chairman of the House International Relations Committee.
On Thursday, May 5, Parton complied with the subpoena.
``I have directed investigators for the Committee to begin an immediate and careful examination of documents received from Mr. Parton,'' Hyde said.
Steady Progress Being Made In War On Terror - Muslim Brotherhood Member Targeted In Dallas
Dallas, TX - PipeLineNews - For the first time the U.S. government is seeking to deport an individual - Ahmed Barodi, an Arlington, Texas businessman - because of his membership in the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a shadowy terrorist organization and was created in 1928 by Hasan al-Banna - an Egyptian - as a method of promoting extreme Muslim interests in the wake of the destruction of the Ottoman Empire after World War I.
Consider the following as the Muslim Brotherhood's mission statement, "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."
Six Months Late - Dimwit Lefty Finally Admits Ohio Vote Not Stolen By Bush
New York, NY - PipeLineNews - As part of a national campaign financed and directed by George Soros' Move-On.org, dimwitted leftist stooge Russ Baker has been claiming since November that the Ohio election was stolen by the GOP.
Operating on the basis of zero evidence, Baker repeatedly made his charges in an oddly named Internet blogsite, TomPaine dot something or other.
Now, faced with overwhelming evidence which refutes his original demagogy, Baker has been forced to totally retract his story. Our guess is that he was called on the carpet by the blog because his efforts were below even their normally subterranean standards
Special Feature - Deconstructing Imam Ibrahim Dremali
By William A. Mayer, E & P - PipeLineNews.org, Beila Rabinowitz, E & P MilitantIslamMonitor.org.
Prologue
It is with a rising sense of alarm that we observe the domino effect currently taking place in America with regard to radical Islam.
On many fronts - in the media, Fox Broadcasting and National Review and in high tech manufacturing, Dell Computer - we are witnessing a caving process taking place that is granting undeserved legitimacy, and with it increased power, to Islamist organizations which are inimical to secular Western institutions.
Groups like CAIR and other Saudi funded Wahabi pressure groups are following a pattern established over a thousand years ago, one which is quite familiar to scholars of Muslim history.
In the West many people are familiar, in a general sense, with Mohammed, the founder of Islam. Similarly they are familiar with city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is considered Islam's most sacred city.
Most however are not conversant with the manner in which Islam, with Mohammed as its military leader, conquered the city in the first place...
Neo-Nazi Addresses Muslim Confab, Tells Them 9-11 Hijackers Weren't Muslim
By Emily Emerson
Editor's Note: We have been following this item for a month, Radical Muslim Group Fraudulently Promoting Fundraising Event. Despite the best efforts of the alternative right-wing media, we were unable to stop this confab between radical Islamists and Nazis. The fact that it was allowed to take place in a Boca Raton Marriott Hotel, with full knowledge of the content - and the more than controversial nature of at least one of the speakers - by the convention manager merely shows how much in denial the American public is over the fact that this culture is in a battle to the death with Wahhabi Islam.
May 2, 2005 - Boca Raton, FLA - PipeLineNews via Militant Islam Monitor - "Islam has come to America to call this country back to its roots," declared [April 30, 2005] the controversial Bill Baker to a crowd of over 300 men, women and children Saturday night at the Boca Raton Marriott Hotel.
Baker, a self-proclaimed Christian, travels throughout America and Canada making speeches to mostly Muslim organizations, often in conjunction with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and Muslim Students Associations on college campuses. The main point Baker said he wanted to make was that Christians and Muslims "have more in common than you think." The white haired, aging Baker appeared last on the lineup. He began by thanking his Shiite Muslim hosts and declared, "my heart is Shi'a" as he touched his chest. He cajoled and wooed the audience with an edgy sarcastic sense of humor while recounting a number of anecdotal personal stories that would be difficult to verify.
Despite Baker's stated objective of enlightening the audience, he did little to explain what the two religions have in common. He asked, "why haven't we heard more about the commonalities between Christians and Muslims?" Answering his own question he replied, "because it doesn't serve today's realities." He offered no explanation of these realities. He skirted the issue of his neo-Nazi ties through a casual acknowledgement that he had detractors, and he declared he would welcome working with "Jewish brothers and sisters who practice true Judaism."
Baker repeated the earlier Muslim guest speakers who emphatically stated that the men who destroyed the World Trade Center on 9-11 were not Muslims. Yet, in a sarcastic tone he condemned Christianity for the Crusades. Declaring a religious dissociation of people from their self-proclaimed religious affiliation is apparently only available to Muslims when they don't live up to their own moral standards. Baker missed the opportunity to argue that the Crusaders weren't really true Christians. Instead, he apologized to the audience on behalf of all Christians for the Crusades. Baker asserted that Islam was never spread by force and Muslim soldiers were never allowed to rape women. Had there been an opportunity for questions, one might have asked Mr. Baker to explain the well-documented ongoing brutal rape of thousands of Muslim and Christian Sudanese women, girls, and boys in Sudan by Muslim Sudanese army troops and Muslim junjaweed militia soldiers.
Leftist Physicist Honored By Theresa Heinz
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Stanford physicist Sydney Drell was presented the $250,000 Heinz Award for Public Policy on May 2 by Theresa Heinz, chairperson of the Heinz Family Foundation.
Theresa is noted for philanthropy funded by the huge fortune earned by her dead husband, Republican Senator John Heinz. The Heinz fortune is also the source of sustenance for Massachusetts' Junior Senator John F. Kerry, a reported Vietnam veteran and former presidential candidate.
About Drell Heinz stated,``[his] scientific insights laid the foundation for an impassioned advocacy, championing a doctrine that reduced the threat of nuclear war while ensuring U.S. security."
What she failed to mention is that Dr. Drell has been wrong on nearly every aspect of nuclear defense since he began speaking out on the issue during the Reagan Administration.
Saudis Arrest 40 Christians For "Spreading The Poison" Of Christianity
Washington, DC - Middle East Media Research Ctr - The Saudi daily Al-Jazirah reported that 40 men, women, and children with Pakistani citizenship were arrested on April 21, 2005 after performing Christian religious rites in an apartment in the Thaharat Al-Badi'a neighborhood in western Riyadh. The arrest was part of a sweeping police operation by the Riyadh District Police, at the order of Riyadh Governor Prince Salman bin Abd Al-'Aziz.
The paper reported that the operation came after Saudi religious police ? known as the Authority for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice followed and collected information on the activity of the 40, who listened to a proselytizing lecture by a Pakistani minister.
The paper also noted that during the police operation, which lasted nearly 10 hours, a cross and a large number of proselytizing books and cassettes were found [in the apartment]. The detainees themselves stated that they had come to listen to lectures by the minister. One of the detainees was a Muslim Pakistani, who acknowledged that he had been influenced by the Christian ideology.
The Saudi daily Al-Riyadh said that the detainees had set up a church in the apartment, equipped with crosses, pictures, and statues. Likewise, it was said that during their religious activity, one of them was found praying, as the others present repeated their words, and one of the women arrested was listing the people's confessions and distributing writs of absolution. The Al-Riyadh report included a photo of the detainees and of a large cross and the group which was arrested.
Lessons from the Counter-terrorism War
By Boaz Ganor
Washington, DC - Middle East Forum - Unfortunately, terrorism is a vague term, so that Osama Bin Laden would say he is against terrorism. We need a clear definition. I propose that it be defined as "the deliberate use of violence aimed against civilians in order to achieve political gain." Even for just causes, terrorism is an illegitimate tactic.
Liberal democratic states confront threats from international terrorism that are unlike anything seen previously. The threat emanates from networks of radical Islamic terrorist groups dispersed across the globe.
Keep in mind that the main aim of terrorism is not to kill and destroy but to maximize anxiety and put pressure on governments to yield on policy. This is equally true of Bin Laden, Hamas, the IRA, and other organizations. We can win each battle, but if one's people remain afraid, we are losing.
I distinguish between two types of fear ? the rational, which is connected to the actual probability of harm; and the irrational, which is connected to the possibility of threat. The second type of fear is the sort that leads to concessions. For example, while 300 Israelis died from terrorist attacks in one year, 600 Israelis died in car accidents in the same period. Yet no one considers not traveling to Israel because of the threat of being hurt in a car accident.
Wanted For Corruption - Harry "The Fixer" Reid
San Francisco - PipeLineNews - Senate Minority Leader Harry "The Fixer" Reid (D - NV) is a corrupt, self-serving hack whose only achievement while in office has to been to line his, and his family members' pockets at the expense of the public by promoting special interest legislation keyed to enrich himself.
Wanted For Breach Of The Public Trust
San Francisco - PipeLineNews - Barbara Boxer (D - CA) is another loud mouthed, duplicitous Democrat example of why people who live in glass mansions shouldn't throw stones.
Boxer reigned supreme in the House of Representatives as one of its lead check kiters, during which time she told the Los Angeles Times that House members' banking transgressions were none of the public's business. She too has authored special interest legislation that has massively benefitted her family's financial interests.

hundreds of fellow ministers. In fact, some of the dearest friends I
have on earth are pastors.
Beyond that, since I am a veteran pastor, I know firsthand the trials
and afflictions that beset every pastor. I doubt that there is a
tougher, more demanding profession than that of local church
pastor.
A pastor is never "off duty." He is literally on the job "twenty-four
seven." For example, I cannot remember the last time my wife and
I took a real vacation. It is even hard for me to remember the last
time that I had a single day away from work, much less an entire
week.
Accidental Costs

"The hardest tumble a man can make is to fall over his own bluff." --Ambrose Bierce
A great deal has been, is being, and will be written about the Democrats mean-spirited partisan obstructionism of presidential nominees.
However, the irrational, hypocritical liberal rants contribute to the inevitable unintended consequence ?someone? in the Democrat caucus should be smart enough and hip enough to comprehend.
Democrats have been (and remain) so focused on the ?rant du jour? they can?t comprehend the net result of their shenanigans.
Hidden Kyotos, Discreet Protocols
By Cheryl K. Chumley
When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen.
That?s the tag from a highly successful advertising campaign that ran 20 years ago for the brokerage firm, you guessed it, E.F. Hutton.
Today, the same might be said in the political world of Sen. Robert Byrd, a hard core, old-timey Democrat whose rhetoric regularly reflects disdain for traditional American values and principles -- but who nonetheless does not shy from pulling out Old Glory to fly legislation he proudly references as ?made-in-America.?
Okay, Sen. Hutton, we?re listening. At the very least, clarification of what ?made-in-America? means to a leftist Democrat should prove enlightening. And enlightening it is; true to form, ?made-in-America? is Democrat code for ?made-for-the-U.N.?
Citizen and Scholar of the World: An Interview with Dr. Theodore Dalrymple
By Bernard Chapin
Chicago, IL - PipeLineNews - Dr. Theodore Dalrymple is one of the few writers who excels in practically every endeavor attempted and never descends into mediocrity, regardless of his subject matter. Along with being an established writer, he is also a psychiatrist. Currently, he is a Contributing Editor for City Journal where he generally writes a couple of essays per quarterly issue, one is entitled, ?Oh, to be in England?. Dr. Dalrymple is a frequent contributor to The New Criterion as well. He writes for a variety of publications including The Spectator and the Daily Telegraph. Dr. Dalrymple has published numerous books such as Life at the Bottom: The Worldview That Makes the Underclass and Intelligent Person's Guide to Medicine. A new work, Our Culture, What's Left of It : The Mandarins and the Masses, is set to be released in May of 2005.
BC: Dr. Dalrymple, you?ve written several books, I wanted to ask you first about Life at the Bottom : The Worldview That Makes the Underclass . It involves descriptions of many of the patients with whom you have worked over the years. Has anyone ever remarked that it wasn?t appropriate to mention patients in a non-clinical setting even if it?s done anonymously?
TD: My descriptions of patients are mostly composite. They are stitched together so that they are not identifiable. Obviously, this means a degree of fictionalisation, though I feel I am absolutely true to the underlying realities I describe. The alternative to not using real words that come out of patients' mouths, however, is that readers should not have to face the social and psychological reality of what I am describing. As a matter of fact, and perhaps surprisingly, I have not been criticised on the grounds you indicate.
Open Letter to Congress: Impeach Activist, Rock Star Judges
By John T. Plecnik
Washington, Durham, NC - PipeLineNews - For too long, congress has allowed federal judges, appointed pursuant to Article III of the U.S. Constitution, to flaunt the law. Appointed for life during good behavior, these judges, including members of the Supreme Court and "9th U.S. Circus Court of Appeals," are vulnerable to "impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." Just like the president, they can be impeached by a majority vote of the House of Representatives and convicted by a two thirds vote in the Senate. The time has come for good conservatives and true patriots to demand that congress impeach the activist, rock star judges.
Last Thursday, Rush Limbaugh gave a nod to "this 21-year-old student from Duke." The king of conservative radio read my column, "Rock Star Judges Usurp Power for Fame," over the air on his nationally syndicated program. Millions listened. Many replied. And I am left with a sense of hope that we can make a difference. We can force congress to perform its duty and protect the Constitution from a judiciary run amuck.
Endangered Species Act: Thirty years of Endangering People and Animals is Enough!
By - Peyton Knight
Washington, DC - PipeLineNews - Animals and humans have suffered the menace of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) for three long decades. During this span, over 1,300 species have been listed as threatened or endangered under the Act's guidelines. According the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the ESA is responsible for recovering a mere ten of them.
That amounts to a pitiful recovery rate of less than one percent. When you take into account credible studies that show these ten recoveries had little or nothing to do with the ESA, the 'success rate' plummets to zero.
The North Carolina Conservative Interviews Jesse Helms
By Judson Cox
North Carolina - PipeLineNews - Senator Helms, thank you for granting this interview. The North Carolina Conservative is a newspaper devoted to fostering conservative, Christian values and politics in our state. Given your background in media and politics, The North Carolina Conservative considers you a hero and a role model.
Helms:
Thank you for your generous profile in the March issue of your publication. It still surprises me when I find something in any North Carolina newspaper that isn?t mad at me about something.
As you may know, I?ve just completed my memoir for Random House. Many of the questions you?ve asked are discussed at length in there. But you do not have the space to publish a book, so I will keep my responses for your paper brief.
