Nascent Police State? Dem Speaker Pelosi - "I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque is being funded"
August 18, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - In a move revealing the totalitarian bent of Democrat Party leadership, yesterday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi [D, CA] stated that those who are working in opposition to the construction of a 13 story mosque adjacent Ground Zero in New York City should be investigated, presumably by federal authorities.
In response to a question posed by KCBS [San Francisco] reporter Doug Sovern, Pelosi said, "...but there is no question that there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some and I join the those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded how is this being ginned up..." Numerous calls for clarification made to speaker Pelosi's office, directed to her press secretary Nadeam Elshami have so far been unreturned.
It seems that this speaker, and this administration, is so imperious as to believe that it falls within the legitimate purview of the federal government to quash the legitimate expression of the First Amendment right to free speech.
We find it curious that Ms. Pelosi would at this late date be so critical of the right of Americans to work against 911 denier imam Rauf's stealth jihad mosque. In 2003 Hillary Clinton set the tone for the [then] asserted right of Democrats to force the United States to lose the Iraq conflict in rather strong terms.
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic and we should stand up and say, "we are America we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration."
People like Ms. Pelosi represent a clear and present danger to this republic and California voters had better note with concern the dangerous tone of the speaker as November approaches.
