Eight Convicted in Belgium al-Qaeda Terror Cell
May 10, 2010 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Delivering an unbelievably lenient sentence of only 8 years to the plot's leader, a Moroccan immigrant - Malika El Aroud - was today found guilty, along with 7 accomplices of planning a series of suicide attacks in Belgium. The al-Qaeda linked terror cell first came to public notice when 9 of its members were arrested in 2009.
Ms. El Aroud is something of a celebrity within terror circles, her first husband having allegedly killed Ahmed Shah Massoud, an opponent of the Taliban and the leader of Afghanistan's Northern Alliance.
Aroud's second husband, Moez Garsallaoui was among those found guilty today.
